Alabama revoked football tickets, disrupted shadow market and quietly built its own

Alabama in January began revoking football season tickets from fans it believed was selling all their seats to ticket brokers. What happened to those tickets and who is profiting from the sales?

Happened to me. Long story short, for years my BIL and SIL used 2 of our 4 tickets. When my BIL’s health got too bad for him to go, my niece and her husband started using those 2. My husband had some heath problems himself between 2016-2018, so for the 2019 season, we made an arrangement with my niece that they would get all 4 with the exception of either LSU or the barn and we would have first right of refusal for any they weren’t using. In 2021 and 2022 my SIL had MAJOR health problems, and my life at the time was like a runaway train, so my niece sold them to someone her husband knew. (Hindsight…I should not have agreed to that.) Come to find out when my tickets got yanked this year, the guy is a broker. Lesson learned, but I’m still mad because I had been a season ticket holder since probably 1994-95…back when alumni were able to get season tickets before they made everyone join Tide Pride.
