For those interested. Out of curiosity, does anyone really see La Tech beating AU? I just can't imagine they will............

Those picks sound pretty solid. I have a sneaking suspicion, however, that Ole Miss is going to blow the doors off Memphis, which will cause all of the talking heads out there to swoon over Jevan Snead and Coach Gonad....

The ONLY one I am really focused on right now is the TIDE and they say 24-13. OK, my take is 27-13 but a win will work for me either way!

I really see La Tech being pesky for Auburn this week. I don't know if they will actually pull it out, but they are no slouch. I think this is exactly the kind of team that someone like Auburn, who isn't exactly clicking on all cylinders going into the game, doesnt want to face. At last check, I think Auburn was like a 14.5 pt favorite. I'll take the points and LA tech. I really think it comes down to the wire.

The rest of the picks I'm pretty much the same on as the writer. I think our game will be a little more low scoring. I picked 17-7 Bama. But I'll take any score as long as the good guys get more points :biggrin:

LSU vs Washington is going to be much closer than that.

I think the barn will win, but LaTech can give them fits in a close one; they won 8 games last year & return a bunch of starters. The barn should have enough talent to overcome.
Lsu will take care of Washington- just way more talent than the Huskies.
Bama over VaTech, of course but it could be a close one also.

I don't think so. Vegas has a 17-point spread that isn't drawing many bets. LSU will have a potent scoring offense and Washington is so weak that LSU's new defense shouldn't have too much trouble.

i think lsu will cover the 17-point spread but they will not win by 40+ was my point. i was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 34-17 or 38-17.

I agree, Red. I think you guys take care of them fairly easily; maybe not by the 29pt margin you predict but I could see by 10-13 pts. You guys are still breaking in a qb too. But I just don't think Washington's all that good right now.

LSU will be playing the third string by the end of the game, and will still easily cover the spread. That game is the easiest pick on the board to me.

The barn should win, but it won't surprise me if they don't. Won't hurt my feelings, either.

Ole Miss/Memphis will tell me something, although I'm not sure what. Nutt gets a "W", although I could see it getting tight if his players have bought into the hype..

The game that tells me nothing is Arkansas/Missouri State. Who the heck is Misery State, and what does Petrino have against them?

Oh, yeah. I'll take that team from Tuscaloosa for my last pick. :BigA:

Could happen. Snead has been talked up a lot for just one season in the SEC.

I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot poll. LaTech's QB situation is shaky at best (think Bama circa 2004 after Brodie went down). I don't know what AU has, but surely it's enough to at LEAST squeak out this win.

EDIT: For clarification's sake, I know that their starter @ QB is a returning starter from last season, but what I was hinting at was his coverage reading/decision making abilities (or lack thereof)

I tend to disagree. I think the stronger our conference and the tougher our in-conference opponents, the better it looks on our "resume'" when it comes around to National Title/BCS game consideration in the event of a 1 or 2 loss season.

Agreed. La. Tech is returning 17 starters from last year's team. They are better than people are giving them credit. La. Tech may not win, but I believe they will cover the spread.
