Perhaps something like this has already been said, I'm sorry if it has, although I like to praise the guys anyhow. 2-3 years ago, everytime the opposite team threw the ball, I was scared as to what the outcome would be. As hard as our guys competed and put into the game, our secondary was shotty at best. But in the years between then and now, a once down secondary has turned into one of the strengths of our defense.

A great is example is Anthony Madison. There was one point in his career when opposing QB's picked on Ant every single time they put the ball up. And in fairness to them, they completed a lot of big passes to people he was covering. He has become a great lock-down corner for us in my opinion and I give him big props for his hard work and effort. I played high school football against him when we were both seniors, and he is a class act.

Without a doubt...

the secondary has improved from '03-the LSU game is a GREAT example of how bad it was that year, but I would still attribute most of the improvement to the coaching staff. I am not convinced that Madison is a "lock-down" guy, but he has shown this year that he can cover receivers one-on-one. I would like to see us recruit some taller, more physical DB's. It seems like we always have 5'-9" or 5'-10" guys and taller receiver give them problems-see the Florida game & Dallas Baker as an example.
