I was watching an old Bama game - Jay Barker and Sherman Williams leading the Tide offense. I thought of Darby while watching Williams run - they seem to be similar in size and juking ability. Like Williams was, Darby is one of those guys that are exciting because he makes "something out of nothing" so often. Nice trip down memory lane. I was wondering how many of us watch games from the past to get a fix or just to see how much the game has changed.

Sherman was very strong, upper and lower body. Anyone remember the S.W poster? He looked like a miniature Earl Cambell, huge thighs and extremely cut upper body. It's a shame what happened to his life.

Darby has potential to be one of the great Bama back's. Up their with S. Williams, S. Alexander, Lassic, Sh. Williams. , S. Stacy of the past 25 years.

I love watching BAMA's past games. Sherman Williams was one of my favorites. He could cut on a dime, at full speed. The Ohio State game in the Citrus Bowl, his and Jay Barker's senior year, is one of my favorite games to watch. Sherman had about 166 yds rushing and 155 receiving.

Ken Darby will be a great one.

Yea, i catch one every now and then. Sherman Williams was one of my favorites, great running back and good reciever. It's just a shame he thew away his life, and career. But if your gonna be stupid, you got to be tough. Shawn Alexander is my all time favorite. Also a great running back, and a good reciever. He's doing an excilent job in the pros as well. I love to watch Ken Darby play now tho. To me he looks like a combination of both of the two backs. Good power, and quick as a hicup. He's going to be one of Bama's best. As long as he stays heathy.

I also think KD is special

But,just try to remember how good Ray Hudson was playing prior to his injury this year. IMO if he can come back at what he was doing he will have a career in the NFL too!

Hudson/Darby

was an incredible tandem. Styles so different and so complementary. I don't want to add another ***** about our offense, but they always looked like a natural split backs pair to me. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a greater NFL future for Darby, if he can stay healthy. KD is thicker and stronger than RH (he's really thicker and stronger than Sherman, also). His style is what the NFL wants - five yards on a regular, predictable basis. Occasionally, he'll get you 45. I don't really care if he doesn't break that many for TDs. Let him get caught from behind now and then. That just proves that a lot of people missed him. He's really the second coming of Walter Payton - that's the opinion of one Mississippi sports writer who watched WP all the way through his college career. He's also KD's idol and the reason for his jersey number...

I knew that Darby was going to tear things up since seeing him in Highschool. He has the great ability to use his sight and physical ability to make big plays. I agree with Tide-Hsv- if and I do say If he can stay healthy he could be one of the great ones to play for the Crimson Tide.
Next season we are going to have some fun watching are backfield explode. Aaron Johns, K Darby, and Castille. It's going to put a hurtin on some people.

'hehe `Nuff said

Williams/Darby

Williams was a good RB, but Darby has a lot better balance. I haven't seen a RB in along time that could run so low and side ways( while carrying the ball), but going forward at the same time...

It is going to be fun watching him in years to come...

Personally in terms of running style, I think Darby is more like Dennis Riddle than Sherman Williams, plus he doesn't have a cool endzone routine like the "Sherman Shake".

Jeez I wouldn't compare Darby to Williams. First off Williams was smaller I believe and lets all hope to God that Darby does not end up like Williams.
