Poll: Should Alabama "cool it" on the Yellow hammer yell?

I like the yell! However, when you've just beat a team by 30 points, or just squeaked by, wouldn't the yell minus "We just beat the Hell out of you" be better? I mean the full yell is OK for rivals ,trash talk and all that. Especially, LS U, UT, and of course the barn! Just sayin'..we always show a lot of class, I would not like to see the yell,with the band,after Penn St.

I don't know how to do a poll,but you get the idea.

I don't care about the cheer one way or the other. But I do find it ironic that a fanbase who claim to be so 'classy' has a cheer telling the opponent we just 'beat the hell out of you'.

Which way do you want it? Classy? or silly and a poor winner?

Rammer Jammer should only be used when we beat UT, LSU or AU by more than 30 and when they are ranked ahead of us.

In all seriousness, I think the yell is going to stay. Don't participate if you don't like it. Its been talked to death on this site.

The cheer is done for each and every team we beat. It does not discriminate based on how good the opposition is prior to or during the game. It's just one of those things that Alabama is known for over the past several decades.

It's just a cheer...so everyone get your britches unwound.

this is sure a topic to come up every season as uniform changes are in the off season. lol

I was actually watching a few last night Mostly different views from The SECCG and the NCCG and I say with a resounding NO! Who we chant to yes but never completely.

I like it. People should really get over this PC stuff about what's in the yell. I really don't pay that much attention to the words just the fact we are singing it again...that means one thing....WE WON!

Man, got some tight wads in here.

The cheer is great and one of the things I look forward to hearing after every win!!!

I'd say our cheer has more class then some schools victory celebrations. UF throws beer bottles, win or loose, all we do is sing a little.

If other teams or fans don't like it, then just beat us and you want hear it.

Classy and fan base should never be used in the same sentence because there is not one fan base in this country that is classy 100% of the time (not even golf fans).

I LOVE it and my wife and I stay in the stands until we sing it with 101,000 of our closest friends. It is part of our gameday tradition!! Roll TIDE!

i love it. however it is pretty pathetic to yell it after the SJSU game.
that is like me talking epic smack after swatting away a 5 yr old's jumper on the basketball court.
i love it for any win against a real opponent, but sjsu is about as terrible as you can get. it was a glorified scrimmage.

Opinions are like bellybuttons...everyone has one and this is mine: I love the cheer after certain games, but do not think it appropriate after every win. I think it should be saved for those special wins where we have a particular axe to grind. LOVED it after the Texas BCS game! Loved it every time we beat Tennessee. Don't think I will love it against Penn State. Too much history there, too much respect. Feel the same way about Oklahoma.

On the other hand, I don't see a way to be selective in the real world. It's not like we can take a vote in the stadium....

So, whatthehell, it just a game anyway. Let 'er rip!:BigA:
