Some Non-'Bama Recruiting Tidbits...

Nothing necessarily 'Bama specific here, but I did figure I would throw out a few big recruiting tidbits that have been developing on the national scene...

* Lache Seastrunk committed to Oregon today, spurning Texas, LSU, USC, and others. Auburn apparently thought they had Seastrunk in the bag... Luper was on radio last week talking about how they were getting a huge commit today and a lot of Barners thought they had him. Dandy Don still thinks he is going to LSU, lol. I think he's overrated as can be, so whatever.

* Read on a Baylor site where even several Baylor fans were admitting that Ahmad Dixon would have some issues qualifying.

* Jordan Hicks will be committing on Friday, and it looks like he'll spurn the in-state Buckeyes for either Florida or Texas. I tell you, if Florida gets him, their class is going to become even more unreal sick than it already is.

* Lots of rumors going 'round that Da'Rick Rogers will spurn Georgia and sign with Tennessee come NSD. That honestly wouldn't surprise me because Dooley has done a great job recruiting, but we'll see.

* Cassius Marsh de-committed from LSU today and will instead sign with UCLA. That's a big loss for LSU because Marsh was absolutely dominant in San Antonio, and that's their third big de-commitment (Davis and Hunter being the other two). I imagine they really turn up the heat on Brandon Jackson now.

* Trovon Reed is apparently still considering LSU, but even Dandy Don thinks he sticks with Auburn, so that ought to tell you something. Granted Don's a homer idiot -- and that's on a good day -- but we'll see what happens.

Take it for what it's worth Easy, but an Auburn guy I know told me a month ago that AU has stopped recruiting LS and had gone all in on Lattimore.

Obviously, that information conflicts with what's being expressed by the more radical wing of the Agrarian Party.

Has LSU's recruiting this year flattened out as much as it seems?

LSU fans are saying the same things, or at least some portions of the fanbase.

Their class has taken some hits. However, they are going to have an amazing in-state class for 2011. They already have four or five of them locked up. Hopefully Alabama can steal a couple from Louisiana in the 2011 class.

Apparently UT's pulling a Clemson and offering Rogers' teammate and friend, Vandy QB commit Nash Nance, as a means of flipping Rogers.

I've heard Auburn players are saying Lattimore is coming there. Their offense was more impressive than OBC's last year.

Think you are right about Rogers to TN. The Viles just got a ** QB to change from Vandy to UT -- Coincidentally, he attends the same high school as Rogers in GA.

BET's mention of Rogers leaving GA for Neckville would now appear to be a near certainty .

Your friend was accurate .

UT has had 3 commits in the last 24 hours or so:

Rajion Neal 4* RB
Mychal Rivera 3* TE
Nash Nance 2* QB

It is rumored that Raiques Crump and unrated LB from Adamsville, AL may have been offered and committed tonight as well.

My stars come from Rivals.

Dooley has #1 kept the class together much better than expected. #2 he has done well bringing in new guys. I think we (Vol fans) should be happy come Wednesday evening.

Hopefully we won't lose Copeland, Hunter, or Loften.

What are you hearing about Stone?

What are you hearing about Stone?
Some claim he is all Vol. Apparently he liked Jim Chaney, but could not stand Kiffin. Once Kiffin was gone UT became a serious contender.

Hubbs says not to expect anything from him until Wednesday. He did cancel his visit to Auburn this weekend. So it should be between Tennessee and Bama for him on Wednesday.

I was talking to an Ole Miss fan tonight via Facebook. He was saying how he is going to miss high school Wednesday since it NSD. I made the comment about how their class isn't as good as last year's. He came back with "What are you talking about? It's a Top 25 class." I reminded him that a Top 25 class isn't sufficient enough for the SEC when 6 schools are in the Top 10 (according to Rivals). He came back with the statement that shows the differences in schools: "When your an ole miss fan youll settle for a top 25 class haha." I'm glad we're not there.
