I think this is just more false promises and positioning by Texas. Just like they did during the conference realignment fiasco when Texas A&M was looking to the SEC. If I were Muschamp, I wouldn't read to much into this article.

Mack Brown's ego is WAY, WAY too big to leave on voluntarily. He'd have to be forced to resign. IMO, he sticks around at least another 4-5 years, maybe longer. I agree with the others, Muschamp will be long gone by then.

The story has been (among some of my friends who are Texas alums) that when Delos Dodds (TX AD) retires, his job will by taken by Mack Brown. Dodds is in his 70's so he could leave relatively soon. Mack is the consumate fund raiser and has taken over many of the speaking engagements that were originally handled by the AD. Mack has the support of Daryl Royal for the job, that would be like a blessing from Coach Bryant.

Right on, I think Mack will be a better AD than coach.

It is 'win now' for so many schools. Persons of Mack Brown's stature should be given more credit and time since he has done so much for Texas. I am hopeful that 'if' and 'when' we lose we are more generous toward our coaching staff. It is such a great time to be a Bama fan. I am 67 years of age and remember the Bryant era and we are in a temendous cycle that reminds me of those days. RTR

Mack is the same age as Saban...he's not retiring anytime soon; he's about twenty years younger (maybe more) than Bowden was when he retired. He just looks old. Texas is gonna lose Muschamp you watch.

Mack Brown looks like he's been: 'Rode hard and put away wet'.
He looks like he's well past his prime. I would have guessed that he was in his 70s from watching him, but he and his brother Watson are nearer the age of Coach Saban.
