Out where? It's not like Alabama just arrived in the college football world and no one's ever heard of us.
Believe it or not, Texas had never heard of us until we hit Colt McCoy. That's why they think it was so dirty. They think we're about the level of Slippery Rock.

That same agent brokered the deal when he was hired here, but no one seemed to mind him then.
Again, CNS has done nothing to indicate that he going anywhere. This has all come from outside sources. He has been out working his butt off all week long and doing his job.

He probably doesn't even have a clue about all the idiotic madness going on in the Twittersphere. He probably don't Twittah either. It's like people think he's in a room with 2 contracts on a table and he's rubbing his greedy little hands together and watching Twitter so he can decide which one to sign.

The morons on the 92.9 morning show here in Atlanta were using the same reasoning months ago. Their "point" was that there's only so much to do in Tuscaloosa, and that Austin is just so much more vibrant.

Yes... they actually spent several segments talking about Nick Saban choosing Austin because of all the things to do.

 on TideFans.com
I'm sure Austin is hipper than Tuscaloosa. But Saban is 62 years old, so what exactly is there to do there that would interest him?

I keep hearing that - and having been both places all I can say is......HUH?

It's a university town just like T-Town. OK, it's about ten times the size but so what? Dallas is up the road, San Antone down it, so Austin hardly registers. Besides - that also translates into MORE DISTRACTIONS for college football players.

I'm just saying.
UT-Austin is a big .... in the center of Austin, but the city itself is very very nice.

Of course we didn't mind then. No one is questioning the work ethic. I just want to feel like he wants to be here....and that it's more than just him "doing his job"

Some girls you want to marry. Some are just a short term fling........we still seem to be at the fling stage

Coach Saban has been working like someone who is staying. I think it says something. But, and I am by no means an insider and don't pretend to know what many of you know. But I do know some people who know things, and who give me tickets whenever I ask to whatever game (people who played and have connections), and they are sincerely worried. I think he is shuffling his feet with the contract, trying to decide; If it is purely money, they dont' think Bama is willing to do what Texas is; at least that is what they say. But they don't know, just saying some people close to the program are indeed worried.

I really don't think CNS stays or goes based on what there is to do in a city.....imo, he's there to coach......he has a place on Lake Burton for his off season interest.

Claimed National Titles: Alabama 15, Texas 4
Bowl Appearances: Alabama 61, Texas 52
Winning Percentage: Alabama .714, Texas .715
Conference Titles: Alabama 27, Texas 32
Consensus All-Americans: Alabama 55, Texas 53

Speaks for itself, really.

So what you're telling us is, he IS in a room rubbing his greedy little hands together watching Twitter to see which one he'll sign...

Bryant was 53 in 1965.....and toyed with the Pros, yes.....not 62 and telling everyone this is his last stop....
Well, I'm just making the point that the differences are not as much as presumed. It's like that mythical nostalgic America where we always debated issues and there was no hatred (insert Burr-Hamilton duel story here).

It should not be taken as an attack on anyone, but neither CPB nor CGS had to deal with social media, either. I would note that Saban has not said ANYTHING AT ALL at this point.

To that end, Mack Brown has also been working like he's staying....

No, I am in the group that if he left I would be grateful for what he did for Bama always. I simply passed on in a message board where people discuss things what people who played here I know said about their concerns. I won't be shocked if he stays, and won't be shocked if he goes. Bama fans owe him a lot either way.
