Not sure, but I heard today it could be a reality after their brawl on the field. I don't know for sure, but that's just what I heard. I decided to post and see if anyone has heard anything to that affect and whether there is a precedent for this or if it could somehow be related to the basketball brawl in Detroit?

I think if it happens, it's a shame. I know it was a terrible incident, but both teams have worked all season to get to a bowl game and to ban the entire teams from competition in a bowl because of the actions of a few instigators is unfair and sets a questionable precedent.

Also, I understand Holtz has retired today and will not coach the bowl game.

With the number of players involved in the brawl and that will likely be suspended, there may not be enough for either team to take the field in a bowl!

The ultimate downside of this is that this would drop the SEC from 7 to 6 bowl eligible teams. Arkansas would have to beat LSU this weekend to get back to 7.

I hate it for the players on both teams but that was totally out of control. I think banning them both from a bowl would send a message...I am all for it! It would never happen at most schools!

RTR!
