Science: Space - the final frontier (Misc.)

This is a translation from a foreign site, but it's incredible!

"The remains of the Apollo Man mission on the Moon recovered from India
Chandrayaan 2, the Indian probe in lunar orbit sent us these two images, the lunar sites of Apollo 11 and 12. These are higher-resolution images than NASA's LRO, and they show incredible detail.
The difference in length of the shadows projected to the ground is due to different shooting times and also from the positions of the modules. It should be noted that the Indian space agency ISRO is fully independent.

thanks for the heads up on that brutha

I used to take a lot of pics before digital cameras came out using a conventional 35mm SLR. Now all I use is a point and shoot Canon - but I long for those days when I would take really cool shots with my telephoto lenses and adjustable camera settings, etc. So I am on the hunt to upgrade my photo equip.

For perspective:
Apollo capsule: design began in 1963
Shuttle: design began in 1971
Dragon capsule: design began in ~2010

Roughly eight years separate the Apollo capsule design from the Shuttle design.
Roughly 39 years separate the Shuttle design from the Dragon Crew capsule design.
