It could be used to fund the school's "NIL" money. Again, spring games come at a time when fans are STARVING to see their team and new recruits. I have no doubt charging admission wouldn't be an issue and there would be plenty of demand for it, ESPECIALLY if the spring game was against another opponent. There's just too much upside to not seriously consider it.
Don't have to stop at just charging admission either, They could offer an exclusively designed broadcast, bring in some old players, some coaches, maybe a few current players with an interview, show some practice highlights, work outs, and the spring game of course, all for like a 20 dollar price tag or something.

I'm wondering if our RBs were much more banged up than we let on.
I interpreted that way differently. he said he knew what he had in Jam. Haynes is gone. It was the other guys who were further down the chart who he is seeing new things from, but they likely aren't getting a lot of carries last season anyway.

I think what he is saying that now we will be able to run way more play action that will actually do what is supposed to do and be a challenge for the defense, where last season, we could not execute that well.

The judges who ruled on this took a very micro view of the issue. Looking only at a persons right to do what they want to do. They did not look at the larger picture. Personal rights are sacred in the US and I'm glad of that, but they are not universally applicable. In the military for instance it would not function at all if personal rights did not take a back seat to the team so to speak. The same could be said to a lesser extent for police, fire. Even at my job I give up some personal rights for the betterment of the company I work for. the goal for me is selfish, I want the company to do well so they can keep paying me. The judges looked at none of that. They basically decided that the whole of college sports needed to be subservient to the whims of any particular athlete. Going the direction we are going there will be a few winners but many more losers than before. You can rule what you want from the bench but you can't rule the results and you certainly can't rule human nature.

I took it as his cryptic way of saying "We couldn't do that with the QB we had last season". I wonder how many other things we couldn't do within the scheme last season that we'll be able to do this season? It should be interesting to see the difference.

If Brooks is anything close to Waddle or Smith, look out. Williams is a year older and you still have Bernard and got 6'4" Horton from the portal. Any QB that can distribute this year is going to create a high powered offense. I am excited.
With Hale back, as well as the addition of Horton, CKD may move Williams to the inside slot position.

Lots.

I think our offense next year will look very different than what we've seen the last couple of years.

Here, leadership is also on his checklist. And under OC Ryan Grubb, Williams’ role is set to expand. Grubb plans to use him both inside and outside, showcasing his elite versatility. So, it’s a stronger, smarter, more dynamic move for Williams, and bad news for defenders in 2025. But for Williams, versatility is everything, he thrives on doing it all—lining up inside, outside, and making plays everywhere on the field. “It’s just fun to be able to do everything on the football field. So the fact that he’s allowing me to (be) inside, outside, just opens up my variety to what I can do in the game. It’s very fun,” remarked Williams.

Love seeing this comment. DL looks to be coming together.

Jeremiah Beaman and Edric Hill are two Alabama football defensive linemen, who are continuing to generate buzz during spring practice.

Hill played in nine games for Alabama last season, registering three tackles in those contests as a redshirt freshman. Beaman was a true freshman in 2024 and only saw playing time in three games, but he earned a significant amount of snaps against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Alabama’s offensive guard, Geno VanDeMark revealed Tuesday the pair has been given the Tide’s offensive line ‘trouble’
“Beaman and Edric, they look a lot different,” VanDeMark said. “They’re playing a lot different, faster, more physical, just better defensive lineman than they were previously, and they’re giving us some trouble. They’re good players.”

Now I'd like to hear from the defensive line that our OL is giving them some trouble as well. That would make me feel better. LOL!

Rumor is we are tinkering with the forward pass with a new QB behind center...

I agree. Student athletes have always been able to transfer as much as they wanted; however, there were rules only about eligibility. The athletes had to sit out of competition for a year, but they could still transfer. I think that freedom covers a person's rights. However, it is insane to me that the Department of Justice can say that the NCAA and their member institutions cannot create their own rules of eligibility. People still have the freedom to move around as much as they like, but we must have rules, or we simply have chaos. Speaking of rule enforcement, I wish they would call basketball by the rules. Hahahaha! It truly seems as if they are trying to kill college athletics.

“Yeah, 100%,” Dippre said. “I thought this past 2024 season throughout practices, from 2023 to 2024, I thought Ty made the biggest step, out of anybody on the team. I think he stepped up, and again, he played second-string quarterback, and to play second-string quarterback with how much he led was big. Not a lot of people are going to sit there and lead. ...“I think he’s going to be really good."

Sounds like he was a leader last year also.

I think the only battle will be for the back-up QB spot. Ty going to do really well IMO. Our QB room is outstanding.
