Starters for 2012

Talent is unreal. We have future 1st day draft picks who just sort of blend in out there (Nico Johnson.) Incredible talent surrounded by incredible talent.

JackLB- Ed Stinson
MikeLB- Nico Johnson
WillLB- CJ Mosley
SamLB- Trey Depriest
CB- Demarcus Milliner
CB- Travell Dixon
NickelCB- John Fulton

PR- Dee Hart
KR- Bradley Sylve and Dee Hart
K- Jeremy Shelley(Short) and Adam Griffith (Long)
KOS- Cade Foster
P- Cody Mandell

FYR, Stinson was moved to DE this year and played an extensive role there after gaining 30+ lbs so I don't see him going back to Jack.

You and a couple of other people don't have Square starting at DE and he is a 2 year starter and will be back for his Sr. year. I would pencil him in.

Depriest has been at Mike or Will this year so the staff would have to move him outside which I don't see happening IMO.

Someone also listed Underwood at TE and he was a Sr. this year.

QB- AJ
RB- Lacy
WR- Carter & Norwood
TE- Williams
HB - Vogler
LT- Cyrus
LG- Warmack
C- Jones
RG- Steen
RT- Fluker

Yeldon as 2nd RB, Fowler short yardage/ 3Down.
White and Bell as 3rd and 4th receiver
Dee Hart will as a David Palmer type, snaps in wildcat, slot receiver, reverses etc.

NG- Williams
RDE-Dial
LDE- Square
JackLB- Hubbard
MikeLB- Nico
WillLB- Mosley
SamLB-Depriest
CB- Demarcus Milliner
CB- Dre (till he says he is leaving)
FS- HaHa
SS- Lester

When they go nickle/dime fulton & vinny

We will be young but, at the same time unlike 2010, I think we have more leadership back next year on D plus players who have some experience. Not to mention the seniors going for #3. The offense should be able to win some games. I know we said that in 2010 with Mark and Julio back but, I think the o-line will be better compared to this year and AJ is a better passer than G-MAC. I think whoever the OC is will have a little more natural talent to work with.... Not downing G-MAC.

2012 is going to have a different feel to the entire team. Firstly, new OC. Second, it's not just the NFL players we are losing, but the core of this team has been together since 2008, or the entire run. Even the less talented guys like Hanks and Maze, etc. It's sort of the end of this era of players we've watched since the run began in 2008.

Not sure I understand this comment? Less talented ?

Plus, lester is coming back. expect him to maintain his starting spot.

I also think Sunseri will stay ahead of Dix at the other S spot. Vinnie took all the reps for Barron when he was hurt against the barn and played a bigger role in the NCG. No reason to think that would flip at this point.

The competition at safety will be interesting. Lots of raw athletic ability back there. Vinnie has the lead at understanding the system. It will be interesting to see if one of the other more physically gifted players can catch up.

The only ones I would add or disagree with is Hubbard I think can win the battle for Jack. I also would watch out for M Shinn in the WR group with C Jones. Plus I think with another spring from what I saw this fall D White will start at one of the WR spots.. I have read Shinn looked really good this fall. I think Yeldon will also get carries, especially since he is an EE. The DBs we be the most interesting battle on D. We are just simply loaded in that position. Another to watch out for is B Sylve who I have heard is playing with the DBs and looks very good. And if Lester stays it will be interesting how long he can hold Collins off. Belue(JUCO) if he does make it in and I hear he will or has I should say will probably be one of our top returners for punts and kicks.

I know that we are losing a lot of talent to the NFL, but just look at the talent that got significant playing time this year that is coming back. Add the talent that redshirted, plus the talent coming in as recruits and the team next year is LOADED.

Rebuild? No way. Reload...

I respect your posts Warrior, but the Lester/Collins comment is out there.

Have you seen Collins play? He is Mark Barron - seriously.

Well if like you say and he is Mark Barron then he won't start in his freshman year. Barron played mostly special teams and got in a few games in which he was burned. It is a little presumptive to think a 2 year starter will get bumped by a freshman. Not saying it wont happen but it is unlikely.

Also I don't really think Collins looks like Barron. He is shorter and more compact than Barron. Barron is tall, long but also thick. The comparisons to Eric Berry at least body type (and I hope ability) wise seem more accurate to me.

You are probably right on all counts, but he is going to be hard to keep off the field. He has the strength and speed to play for Bama right now. Depends on how quickly he can learn the defense.

Have you seen Robert Lester play and make All-American and All-SEC and considering leaving early to go pro to make millions of dollars? And yes I follow recruiting very closely and most of my posts are on the recruiting board and Collins is very talented. I posted on the recruiting board he is our next Mark Barron when we got his commit but to say how long he can hold off Collins is puzzling IMO.

Oh he will play I'm sure. We use so many different packages on defense there will be playing time to go around. He is ridiculous looking for a high school player haha. The best man will start and whoever that ends up being I think we will be just fine.
