Until today, I had not looked at the overall SEC performance thus far in non-conference. I knew the SEC had done "pretty well" in first couple of months of season, but wow. This is incredible - regardless of who the opponents have been!

Not really. Pearl usually finds a way to screw it up outside that one run. We’ll see.
Usually pretty easily explainable with the last 3 teams that were run worthy.
2020 - COVID
2021- Rebuild
2022 - freaking guard play
2023 - freaking guard play again

those holes have *seemingly* been patched so far. Tahaad, Denver and Miles are light years better than Aden or Wendell Greene or KD Johnson so far, and against monstrous competition.

It’s always “explainable.”

Either way, this league is going to tear itself apart.

I mean with Auburn it’s clear. The one year we had amazing guards was the year we nearly pulled it all off. Since then it’s never been the front court that’s been the imbalance. It’s just the guards always melting.

So you are saying Auburn sucks at "away" games.

I don’t remember anything like this. There have to be some pretenders in that bunch right?
Most years, if I looked at these records before the SEC started I'd say "yes" to that question.

But, I've watched a few games besides Bama and considered some of these SEC wins against non-SEC schools. And considering a lot of these SEC teams are playing pretty good teams, I think the answer is "not many."

I mean, at the annual SEC vs. ACC challenge we toasted them winning 14 out of the 16 games. The only losses were KY getting beat by Clemson, a good team and AU losing at Cameron to Duke in a pretty tight game.

If the tourney was played right now, I think Auburn wins the NC. They are playing as good as anybody in the country right now. They have the best balance of really good guard play and impressive front court and JB may be the best player in the country.

I just hope they've peaked too soon. Good Lord knows we haven't!

Auburn seems to have a 7-9 player rotation. With 7 getting most of the minutes. Previously Pearl would go too deep, to crest balance (like Nate is doing so far), but kept him from having a reliable go-to player at crunch.

UT and AU will likely finish 1-2, I think we are 3-4,and likely a 2-3 seed. At least from here.
