Stopping Trump's Move Toward Authoritarianism

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Of course, looking at any No Kings protest image would show roughly a 50/50 split between men and women, but why would a TV personality cares about statistics when he can sell books and articles to uneducated Trump voters?

It's like the Republican convention every 4 years. The networks scan the crowd of lily-white folks to find the baker's dozen of people of color, and then focus on them as if their numbers are incredibly large.

And all l had to see was a quote about Fox News Digital for me to know the propaganda end. I've been hearing the "40 year old educated white women" saw for days now. Very little corroboration. Save for the wingnutosphere that loves to repost stuff they've thrown against the wall to see if it sticks.

I am all for securing our borders but this is really going too far. What kind of people is ICE hiring?
Unfortunately for America, there are millions of white people who don’t see this as enough of a problem to speak up and condemn it. Masked thugs terrorizing Americans is an acceptable consequence (especially since they don’t have to worry about it - yet). Getting rid of those here illegally matters more than the rights of Americans who might have an accent or darker skin. The end justifies the means. And our Constitution means nothing.

Pentagon readying thousands of Guard ‘reaction forces’ as U.S. mission widens

Up to 23,500 service members are being readied and trained for civil unrest missions in U.S. cities.

This is how Trump will quell future “No Kings” rallies as well as demonstrations against any of his policies. The right to assemble peacefully if you disagree with Trump is in grave danger. He’ll call any gatherings “civil unrest” and eliminate the voice of the opposition. And that’s merely a prelude to his plans for the 2026 elections.
he’s going to run out of shock troops pretty quickly.

they are already scraping the bottom of the barrel with the chuds they are rolling out with the border patrol and ice now.

also, i can’t imagine guard folks are going to be happy being pulled away from their families and careers to support this fascist idiocy

Recently there have been discussions about a significant project underway to create a system to monitor everyone on the web and their social media activities. Obviously dissent would be identified in the process and opponents could suffer retribution. I can imagine what forms it may take given what is going on in our streets and court rooms today.

And I don't think this is a new thing. These people have always felt that way. I can attest from growing up in the Deep South. It's just that they have a guy in the Oval Office, and a sufficient enough cult behind him, where all of their prejudices can be given power because they are no longer ashamed to have them.

This should scare everyone in this country, but not MAGA, they cheer it on.

Scumbag ICE pigs. Rotten to the core, bottom of the barrel human beings, every one of them. I have no respect for anyone who works for ICE.

White nationalist racist a-holes. MAGA loves 'em.

vile people

Reasonable people can disagree on immigration policy and how strict enforcement should be, but what happened in Chicago goes beyond politics. Border Patrol chose to conduct an operation during a children’s Halloween parade, in a neighborhood full of families, and when things got tense, they used chemical crowd-control agents. That’s a line we shouldn’t cross in this country.

I believe laws should be enforced, but I also believe there has to be sound judgment as well as rational boundaries. If we can’t agree that kids at a holiday parade deserve a buffer from federal operations, then something’s off.

I’ve heard the defense that “there are no sanctuaries anywhere in America.” I understand the intent behind that phrase, but if it means that even children’s events aren’t given a moment’s pause or alternative planning, then we’ve lost sight of the purpose of law and order. It’s supposed to protect the community — including the smallest and most innocent members of it.

We don’t have to abandon border enforcement to acknowledge that this was handled poorly. Conservatives have always emphasized smart, limited, and accountable government, not government that storms into a family event with tactics that leave kids coughing and terrified. They should be outraged at this action.

This isn’t about being “soft” on anything. It’s about insisting that enforcement be effective, professional, and respectful of the community it serves. If an operation is so poorly timed and planned that it puts children directly in harm’s way, that’s not strength — that’s failure.

We should be able to say two things at once: Enforce the law, but don’t do it in a way that unnecessarily traumatizes children and damages community trust. If we can’t draw that basic line, then we’re not protecting American values — we’re eroding them.

In the words (and voice) of Bill Burr-

All of them? Not like 87% of them? Could you give us 72.65% just in case there are some non racists poor white people? Or are you sure it's all of them?
