I just visited and made a few posts. Most of the guys there seem pretty nice. In our defense we have Auburn fans who go to any of our rival boards just to cause trouble in the name of Alabama. Judge from the quality of the members here if you will. Tidefans is one of the best Alabama boards on the net and it is our mission to keep it that way.

You're right in that most of the fans on that forum are decent. There are a few regulars that are Pitt fans and Uconn fans that have been well accepted based on their knowledge and daily input. However, there are some, particularly from UConn, that do nothing but stir the pot. It's because of the likes of them, that many of the Syracuse posters get defensive with any fans of other teams.

I was hesitant to post the link since I came on this forum and was treated so fairly. Knowing that's not always the case of opposing fans on the Syracuse forum I was thinking that Bama visitors would get the wrong impression. Hopefully anyone that's visited the site isn't too ****ed off about any of the "redneck" or "backwoods" comments.

Hehe, we are used to such talk. I responded to a couple of them. I also responded to the redneck tooth brush joke saying the Toothbrush was invented in Tennessee, if it had been invented in Alabama we would have called it a "Teeth Brush".

I think I'll just stay home here at Tidefans....www.al.com has a forum just like the one you linked (run by the same company?). It is trash, too. Not a whole lot of knowledge, just people spouting off with no accountablility. I can certainly see why you were hesitant to post the link. But you are welcome to post early and often on tidefans.

As you found "bnhonest" it can kind of get out of hand over there. You have to be able to weed out the morons from the regulars to cope with it. I will keep posting here up till game time, and if Bama should win, I won't bail, I'll be back one more time to give credit and take my lumps. If the Cuse wins I'll be back, but not to post, just to read comments....I'm not the type to rub salt in a wound....after all we have Cuse football, so I've had salt rubbed in plenty of wounds over the years!
 
I looked at it and I don't want to waste time on crap like that. The average maturity level of the posters appears to be something like 14 or 15.

The approval is easy. They didn't even take time to do a proper credit check, background check, look to see if you had a prison record or outstanding warrants. 98% of the Bama fans that I see posting there are from al.com and it is now officially a romper room.

We have a pretty picky group here. However, this site wouldn't have been selected as one of the top 10 college sites in the nation by ESPN if we weren't picky.
