I believe he is the top prospect in the state............but losing him to the barn will just have to be accepted b/c his Dad played at the Barn, his best friends brother plays for the barn now and he lives in Barn country. IMO we had just to much to overcome plus as much as I hate to admit it 12-0 appeals to HS kids. I think we will be fine without him and still wish we do,but if we get 6 OL studs and 2 of the rb's we are recruiting UA will be fine!

It'd be nice...

I'm not holding my breath for him. If he decides to go to Auburn, which I think he decided on them a long time ago, then that's fine. It's his loss. ;)

Just hit him a little harder come game time.

Well....

I just read that he is a life long fan of the Crimson Tide.....so tell me how a true blue Bama fan could ever fathom going to the Barn... IMHO, if he goes to Auburn, then he never was a true Bama fan, cause a true Bama fan bleeds Crimson and not Puke Orange and Blue...

Come back from the dark side Tommy...lol

I seem to recall his maternal grandfather played for Alabama

, so I wouldn't say that his father is the main reason he goes to Auburn. I still wouldn't count CMS and the Tide out just yet. A lot can change in 6 weeks. Besides, Coach Shula can be persuasive and he seems not at all ready to give up on Tommy. Just a hunch but I see CMS hanging on until the bitter end. Besides, you never know what might happen. Have faith.

He has ties to Bama

His daddy played at Bama, and is still a good friend of Bart Starr (according to an interview with Mr Starr.) His mom also graduated from Bama before apperantly suffering from a momentary lapse of taste and marrying a Barner :) Anyway I think he may end up at the Barn but various articles here in Montgomery over the last few months, he is truly split and has contacts and friends on both sides. BTW you may think this is Auburn country but there are plenty of Tide fans around here. There is a steady red stream of taillights on the road coming back after gamedays! We did sign 4 guys from this area last year.

Gb...

I'm confused. You say his dad played at Bama, but his mom had a lapse of taste and married a Barner? This is the first I've heard about a step-dad, but I've not been following it that closely...

Brandon Johnson from Coden was a huge Tide fan

but Dubose and Cottrell turned him down flat on a scholly offer. The kid would have run through a brick wall for them if they had only signed him. He was a force while at Albarn

Oops, my mistake

I said his dad played at Bama, but I meant to say his Grandfather played at Bama. Sorry about that. BTW I know Brandon from around the way. He dominated at Bryant because of his size and age. He was tough as they come, but not overly talented. I wouldn't say he was a force. But I'm biased :rolleye2: Bottomline the best player to come out of the bayou is playing for the Titans after wearing the Crimson Jersey! Just my opinion.

Brandon Cox held out to the bitter end as well and Bama didn't offer him a scholly. You can't blame a kid...a free ride, even if it is at Auburn. For some families, that's a tough offer to refuse.

The Bama/Brandon Cox recruiting situation is a whole lot different than Tommy Trott's recruitment. Then Coach Fran thought that Cox wasn't a good fit for the type of offense that he wanted to run. I wish that would have turned out differently but it didn't.

Tommy Trott could just about go to whatever school he chooses. Bama has offered him a scholarship and the staff is pursuing him as a top priority. It sounds like Trott's style of play and skills would fit into Coach Shula's Bama offensive scheme very well. If Trott chooses Auburn over Bama I am sure he will have his reasons. I hope that doesn't happen but if it does I will wish him the best. I am sure that Coach Shula and the staff are doing everything within their power to persuade him to sign with Bama.

Well, I wouldn't want the kid to get injured or something like that, but if he goes to Auburn, I for one wouldn't want to wish him the best, maybe second best.
