Talk about perspective, a must read.....

I don't know how many more of these we need. So before this one goes further, let's just remember a recent quote by a mod.:

WARNING: CMG Threads (Please Read!)
I think that we've been "very" lenient on the "Fire CMG" threads and innuendos. Just about everyone has said something either against or for him and I see no need for someone to say the same thing over and over again. I'm even starting to see responses "pop-up" in threads that have nothing to do with CMG's status. From now on I'm shutting them down and handing out points.

Enjoy the game of basketball and cheer for your school!

While not saying so directly, this thread is certainly :beatdeadhorse5::beatdeadhorse5:

So now anytime somebody posts a piece of information or an opinion on a topic that has been discussed before, he or she is "beating a dead horse"?

There's a famous quote that, "there are no original ideas left [in the world]." If that's true, then we're all repeating something someone else has said, and we might as well shut message boards down.

Not every thread needs to be about Gottfried, but those who want to offer and discuss criticism should be allowed to do so without being shouted down by Gottfried's loyal following.

This has not happened a whole lot. :)

Generally goes like this. "Ive been a Bama fan for a long time. I can no longer watch them. They missed a free throw. Weve seen the same thing."

While true for almost everyone, some substance is nice to go with the opinions. :BigA:

Discussion and debate are fine and more than welcome. But I didn't read even one thing in that article that hasn't already been discussed and debated at length.
You are absolutely correct in that not every thread needs to be about Gottfried. But my point is that not only this thread itself, but also the title, refers directly to an AOL Sports article, and CMG is the sole topic of that article. So the author gets a chance to again point out CMG's faults, but by proxy.
Again, IMO, there's nothing new here.
For the record, I'm neither among CMG's "loyal following" nor one of his detractors. I'm just a loyal Tide Fan.

Unless this article's author has been quoted here before, then this certainly is "something new." The article, by the way, does have some substance above and beyond the "fire Gottfried" mantra. Maybe we should be discussing the meat of the story rather than dismissing it as a "dead horse." One interesting item is the blog's date -- March 7, 2007.

I guess to some degree the article does repeat a lot of the same stuff that we have been saying all year. The fact that it was published almost a year ago really stands out to me. His seat was burning last year but here we are, 11 months later, and it certainly hasn't gotten any better.
