Tall receivers?

I recall some time ago when we used to bemoan the fact that we did not have the tall lanky receivers and DBs, and how we needed them to win games. I remember thinking about little ole Joey Jones stretched flat out in the endzone and the fact that we won many many games with sub six foot receivers. I was reminded of this when looking at the pictures of this past game posted on Shula's page of little ole Tyrone catching the ball. It kind of reminds you of the saying "it ain't the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog." Little ole Tyrone got some fight in that little old body.

There are always exceptions (Tyrone), but having KB, DJ and Zeke at 6'3" does create match-up problems.

I remember the Spurrier-coached Florida teams that had a bunch of short, but fast, receivers. They did pretty good.

I remember Dubose trying to imitate that and the disaster that ensued. give me a 6-3 210# WR and match him on a 5-10 190# DB anyday. Shula is looking at a prototype NFL WR. one that can "fight" the ball away from a DB.

Our 5-10, 190# DBs are among the best in the nation.

We have 5 receivers right now that are 6' or taller. These are: Zeke Knight, Marcus McKnight, Matt Caddell, D.J. Hall, and Keith Brown. And as for our db's, most db's out there are 5'9" to 5'10". And I would match our db's against any secondary in the country.
