TE/OT Cameron Clear commits to Tennessee

According to CC, Cameron Clear is set to announce his college choice next Thursday. With him being the top recruit out of Tennessee, I hope we can land him. Also does anybody know if Thompson is still got that fence up?

You might be correct, but I'm not 100% clear. He is a project at OT, though.

Sounds spot on. If not already silently committed, he could well be waiting to see what or who our total numbers or individual signees are. To me, the fact he is waiting a day favors us.

If he is a silent commit (most likely to UT), he may have some other decent reason to wait until Thursday.

I've seen here and on Scout, (I think) that most believe his future is on the OL. I'm not quite convinced. Square was a tweener who did end up on the DL. Clear could be a tweener whose speed and frame still enables him to play TE. In fact, looking at Cyrus' build, if he could decrease his forty time from 5.0 to 4.7 or 8, he could probably play TE. Now I would like to see that. :smile:

Decision day has arrived for Cameron Clear.

The Central High standout, the top undecided football prospect in the Shelby-Metro area, will make his college choice known Tuesday at a 1 p.m. press conference at the school.

Clear had originally been scheduled to sign on Thursday, the day after Wednesday's national signing day. Clear's father, Michael, confirmed the change in plans via text message on Monday to The Commercial Appeal.

Well that is good news. The less waiting for their decisions the better.

No you are not missing anything, it goes from Thursday the 3rd to Wednesday the 2nd to Tuesday the 1st @ 1:00. The link, which seems to be the most reliable states tomorrow, Tuesday the 1st at 1:00

the article says he has moved it to the Tuesday Feb 1st not Wednesday as the thread title would indicate. or am i missing something.

Yes, Clear is announcing on Tuesday Feb. 1st. My mistake, it was a typo. I put NSD in the title by mistake. lol
