It may be late for this season, but those of you close to the individual players/coaches may know the answer.

It may be a stupid question, but I want to know if the success of the team correlates with the success of the team. For instance, this year we were great, but our players weren't clasified to be the best. In 2000 we had little success, but our players were supposed to be awesome.

I'm curious because I wonder if a team gelling is more important than talent. Begin the argument.

I'm pretty sure that the success of the team correlates with the success of the team, since those are the same thing.

Recruited Talent + Development + Chemistry = Success

It is important to recruit good talent but it is equally important to develop that talent and have it function within the team.

The 2000 Team had consisted of three consecutive Top-ten recruiting classes, but a lot of that talent never actually made it to campus. Others were never developed to their full potential or misused. Combine that with the disfunctional environment that was there, and you see what happpened.

I have always believed that a team of good players with GREAT coaching can beat a team of great players with good coaching. With that said, I think we'll see just how good Shula is in two or three years because his recruiting has been great and add to that the staff's overall coaching and we should compete for a NC in '07 and '08 and possibly beyond!

Football is the ultimate in team sports. Chemistry is huge. Guys don't have to all like each other, but they have to be willing to fight for each other. Generally getting along makes it easier to fight for your teammates.

Doh. Sorry I meant the relationship of the players correlating with the success. My mind went faster than my fingers there.
