techno song played at games

I would love to see us play Nine Inch Nails - Head Like A Hole in pregame

something about "Bow down before the one you serve. You're going to get what you deserve." seems appropriate.

BDS is playing it. I heard it at both the LSU game and the UTC game. They play it right before kickoffs. Sometimes it has a rap beat mixed in with it.

I did notice that. Even my wife said, "what an idiot...". I have to agree.

This was the first game I've been to since UT 07. I did a double take on the bells then realized what it was.

Anyone know where to get a clean copy of that pregame video that plays Hell's Bells? I found one shot from the stands, but you couldn't hear anything. That video was really impressive.

Are you sure about that? I know it's not on our kick-off.

I have all the games recorded, and I'll check. It would seem too much of a coincidence that three of four schools picked up the same song.

It's freaking gay techno music, and has no business in Bryant Denny.

Long live Skynard!

Here is my Ode to the song from the MSU game

Most southern schools are slow to uptake any new music, as the electronica music you hear is 10+ years old. But, as with the last poster's comments, you see the strong preference. On the other hand, I've been to a couple of basketball games up at UNC the last few years, and I'm always surprised to hear very new (and cool) music being played over soundsystem. I think it's awesome, and it really appeals to the younger crowds.

I'm 40, own my own digital workstation, and write techno music among other genre's. I could set up a generic techno sound with a Access Virus TI, Roland TR-909 and what bass and other layers you want in five minutes, actually their ready to dial up. I don't think age has as much to do with it as either you like Techno or hate it, and if you like it, do you want it playing during kick-offs.

I am the group that likes it, but doesn't care for it during prominent parts of the game, like kick-offs. I enjoy listening to our band and more intimidating music than cheerleader competition music.

Again, as with many things that people don't care for, the "Age" card is used against them, and I feel that it is not correctly applied in this circumstance.

I have looked in the audience and seen 70+ woman clapping their hands to the music.
