"Our program has devoted a tremendous amount of energy, resources, support, and care in an effort to help Janzen manage his personal challenges," said Dooley. "I will always be there to help him as a person, but there comes a time when a player's actions preclude him from the privilege of playing for the University of Tennessee football team.

"Although I'm disappointed with this outcome, we will never compromise the long-term organizational values and goals we maintain here at Tennessee."

Looks like a typo but I'm assuming he means "Janzen" Jackson. Big loss for them if true, but he's been in trouble from the beginning since stepping foot on campus.

IF this dismissal sticks, it will be a HUGE loss for TN. JJ is probably the best player they have.

What an awful stretch of years for UT fans. This has got to be worse than the stretch we had in the early 2000's AND it aint over yet, none of their teams looked poised to climb out of the cellar.

I think it would have been easier to understand if the word "opportunity" was only on the left door. That way it actually would have said "Opportunity is Now Here."

As it is, it says "Opportu Nity is Now Here"

Dooley sure talked in circles trying to claim the mistake was deliberate.

There really should be no place in college athletics for a case like Jackson.

Not sure what got him kicked off, seeing that he has survived getting away with 2 felonies at UT. Maybe he murdered a Tennesee fan, whose family decided to cover it up to avoid losing a good player.
