Question: Terrance Broadway

Is he going to be a tough pull from LSU? He seems to be a good player.

The closest thing I have to inside information is from reading this board. According to some here we lead for Broadway early. I think we got on him early also which certainly helps. That said, he's not only an in-state kid for LSU, but an in-town kid for them and that is never easy pull.

QB Terrance Broadway has put us at the top of his leaderboard after returning home from the Kentucky game. Great news!!

LSU has yet to put up much of a fight and he says he's a Southern University fan and has never really even followed LSU anyway. Also has an offer from Nebraska at this point. Great athlete!!

This was from several months ago, but I imagine it will be hard for the LSU folks to say they don't want this guy, as good as he seems to be...but in reality, he may not even want them! That's got to sting a little bit for the LSU folks becaue he's in the same town! Yikes!

This is a thread about Broadway from a couple of days ago that one of the bigwigs (along the lines or RTO, CS, BET, Tide-HSV) that spoke that Alabama has the lead for a couple reasons (if whoever said it wants to correct me if I am wrong, feel free): 1. Broadway supposedly did not grow up an LSU fan. So he won't exactly be Darrington Sentimore in that he won't be torned about go to either Alabama or LSU. 2: Broadway's HS caoch is a fan/friend of Nick Saban, and will be trying to push Broadway to Bama.

It will be a tough pull nonetheless, but not from LSU, IMO. I think you might see xCLT trying to recruit Broadway to Tennessee, and who knows one of the Texas teams (a&m, Tech, Rice, Baylor) should and will get in on him. Obviously I feel great about Bama's chances against the teams, but it will still be a tough pull, but definately a coup if they can get him.

True Broadway did not grow up a LSU fan. He was actually a Southern fan. I don't believe his coach is connected with Saban I believe you are referring to Jonathan McKnight's coach. But Broadway is high on Bama and we are high on him. Most LSU fans think very highly of him but aren't sure if LSU will pursue him that hard. The big obstacle will be overcoming in-state, in-town pressure to go to LSU.

I highly doubt Broadway comes to LSU. One, we have five QB's already. Two, he didn't come to our junior day. He has an offer if he ever decides to come to campus.
I don't think our staff will pursue him that hard because of his lack of interest. I don't know if we get a QB in this next class. 5 QB's who are sophomores and below isn't an appealing depth situation. But it is entirely possible that we might have 3 or 4 by Fall, as in JL transferring or RS moving positions. So we will see. But I am not holding my breath for Broadway.

That's Airborne.

To me Broadway strikes me as a young man who won't go to LSU because the in-state pressure wants him there. If he goes there it will be because he believes he's better then LSU's current QBs (and if that is the case the kid is not short on confidence/arrogance). Personally, as much I would love for Bama to be on Broadway (yes pun intended), something tells me the young man will be looking for a chance to play early, and that is prolly something he won't get at Bama. I could definately see Broadway consider---even though most think would be unlikely---MSU and Dan Mullen, or even Petrino and Ark.

Terrance is definitely a Bama lean right now, and I wouldn't be too surprised if LSU doesn't come after him hard realizing its an uphill battle.

The 5 QB thing with LSU is probably not that huge a deal. The only one that's really competition for him is probably Jefferson. I mean Hatch is gone, Lee has big time issues, Garrett probably is just there for insurance purposes, and I really doubt that Shepard plays QB there. I mean Broadway is a better passer than Shepard now.

Truth is the staff made a big impact on Terrance at last year's camp, I'm sure he was impressed with his visits, and word is from some LSU fans is that his HS coach is kinda pushing him towards Bama. Now that isn't because they're best of friends, but he's been impressed by Saban and staff during the recruitment of Terrance.

But just as its expected that LSU will not offer McKnight due to lack of interest, don't be surprised if it occurs with Terrance.

All that said, I'll never say its over until its over. LSU may do something to really impress the kid.

As for Kiffin coming after him, I doubt it. They semi forced out tahj boyd , who is a highly touted dual threat, because he doesn't fit their system.

LSU may go after him hard because I really don't think that their qb situation is nearly as good as some people do. Jefferson's strong point against Georgia Tech was that he protected the ball. He did not do much that would make me believe that he was a big difference maker other than that. Lee can throw the football if they can coach him up and get him to develop some confidence. Hatch is gone. Is Sheppard really a qb? Garrett is probably someone that can play but will need time.

None of their qb's are good enough to discourage a five star kid from committing to them, imo. They may try and go after Broadway.

I'm not sure if Broadway's coach is really close to Coach Saban or not, but he's been in charge of Broadway's recruitment early on, and has been very open to Alabama. I don't think LSU will go after him very hard, considering their depth at QB over the next couple years. So, the home town pull won't big as big of a deal with him, as some other Louisiana prospects. However, overcoming the fact that his mother reportedly doesn't want him far from home will be the bigger issue.

There are 3 or 4 QB's in Louisiana next year that will be highly recruited and LSU won't be able to get them all. The fact that Broadway isn't high on them right now may cause them to go after one of the others and leave Broadway for us. Should be an interesting case to watch over the next year.
