Who gives these rings out - the bowl or the school? Because if its the school, that should be determined after the game the game is over, IMO. Sporting rings to. commemorate a bowl loss a little odd to me.

On a related note: our 2004 defense STILL has still not stopped Marion Barber and Lawrence Maroney!

Just asked a member of that team. He said the university bought the team rings for the Cotton Bowl. He also has rings, bought by UA, for the Music City Bowl and Independence Bowl.

So it appears this is common. It's the offseason so this is why this is news worthy. Next story. SEC media days & then fall camp can't get here soon enough. At least then we will have some good football related news to discuss.

i got no problem with the rings & hope it helps these young men remember the good times when they get older. I don't see it as everybody gets a trophy, only one team got a NCG ring & not to many years ago you could not say that.

Which Independence Bowl Game? CDF, CMS when he was not there or CNS first year. Just curious.
