News Article: The All Lane Kiffin Related Posts Thread

I am thinking he was probably told he wasn't going to be a candidate for the job anyways of course thats just me guessing

Yep I tend to agree. Kiffin is putting together an impressive staff for the amount of money and resources he has to work with so far.

Given his brother's implications in the Ole Miss saga this may not be the best hire.
I don't Lane cares. I mean he's at a stepping stone job. Even if he leaves behind a dumpster fire, as long as he can move up what does he care? On the other hand, they're the type of school that doesn't have too far to fall anyway.

At least we know that our current recruits won't be following Lane! Too big a drop in program quality. That's another good thing about him going to FAU. And all upside at FAU, not like some of other programs that could have finalized his head coaching career.

If Lane can win 7 or 8 over the next two years, he'll be somewhere else in 2019. If not, he could be looking at a career of coordinating offenses after FAU. With how assistant pay for top guys has exploded over the last 4-5 years, I don't imagine that is exactly a terrible station in life.

After Smith, I'd hope any players thinking about transfers would rethink. However, they're kids, so I know better...

Just thought anyone might be interested in this:
Florida Atlantic: USC defensive administration assistant Keynodo Hudson has joined the FAU staff as defensive backs coach, according to 247Sports. Hudson has been in an off-field role at USC since 2012. He spent last winter on the road recruiting and spent most of the time in his native Florida.

This is interesting hire because He is excellent recruiter and has ties in Florida. He also helped recruit Leonard Williams, Leon McQuay, Lamont Simmons and Quinton Powell to USC. Between Kiffin's brother and Hudson, and possible adding one or two more people that's ace recuiter, I could see them flipping at least 2 or 3 kids from other school after the dead period is over.

They may not wait until after the dead period...LOL. Recruiting war is on in South Florida.

How is an "off the field" person allowed to recruit? Do we have such a person on staff?
