Meanwhile, the other party is setting up a dictatorship while the Dems keep tripping over themselves...

Accusation: Dem politicians care more about illegals than they do about Americans.

Hakeem Jeffries: Hold my beer. I care more about international drug gangs than I do about Americans.

WEAPONIZATION: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is warning ICE agents that he will see to it that their identities are known to the public including the Cartels, MS-13, and TdA.

I'm not sure what Temu Obama thinks he's going to accomplish with this, but he's bringing the wrong type of attention to himself (and his party.)
Maybe you're just OK with faceless hoardes sweeping people up without warning?

I’ll answer your hyperbolic question with one of my own: perhaps you’re just okay with traffickers, rapists, murderers and thugs being given an open invitation to cross our borders illlegally and prey on our citizenry? Gotta pump up those electoral college numbers somehow, amirite? Sacrifices have to be made.

ICE acting director responds to political rhetoric causing anti-ICE sentiment and threats to federal officers and their families: “I’m not asking them to stop — I’m demanding that they stop.”

I've got no problems with protecting our borders. I just don't think that law enforcement should be able to hide their identities while doing it.

And my question wasn't hyperbolic.

That's what conservatives say, yes. Others might contend that the dems are siding with constitutional rights. Hell, if ICE is going to go masked they might as well go all out and don their white sheets and hoods.
Doxxing (and therefore threatening) people who are doing their job because you suspect some of them might be acting unconstitutionally is insane, imo.

Identifying is not the same as doxxing.

Setting aside that ICE is going over the line, are you seriously OK with law enforcement wearing masks while arresting people?

Even on a basic level, it's just asking for problems. Let's say someone gets arrested for resisting arrest, and they go before a judge. What does the arresting officer do? Show up to court wearing a mask? Even if unmasked, how can that officer prove that he or she was in fact the arresting officer? If they can't, what happens to the right to face one's accuser?

I don't care what they wear, Jeffries wasn't specific in the statement I was responding to: " House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is warning ICE agents that he will see to it that their identities are known to the public including the Cartels, MS-13, and TdA."

You want to stop the deportations (for whatever reason)? Go after the policy makers.

You beat me to it. Masked LEOs are the stuff of 3rd world dictatorship. There have been enough "mistakes" which have already admitted that it's obvious that it's the tip of the iceberg. Not since Nazi Germany have so many people been arrested on the basis of physical appearance alone...

To clarify, are you ok with all law enforcement officers having the right to keep their faces covered and identities a secret or are you limiting that to just the ICE situation?
No, I’m not okay with ‘masked LEO’ and I’m also not okay with officers needing to cover their faces due to threats of violence against them for doing their job.

The only real black and white issue here is a federal employee potentially releasing the names of people knowing what will happen.

I reiterate: if you REALLY believe sexism had anything had all to do with Harris losing (hint: it didn't), why in the world would you nominate a woman in 2028?

Whitmer says she won't run for president. Democrats better hope she's joking. | Opinion

Let's be honest, Whitmer has three "assets" to be a nominee:
1) she's sorta attractive in that middle age mom kind of way
2) she's governor of Michigan
3) because of the attempted kidnapping she gets to run as a "victim," and Democrats like nothing more than throwing out a "victim," preferably a non-white non-male.

That's it.

If she looked like Janet Napolitano (or Janet Reno), nobody would say "she should run for President."
If she looked like she does now but was the Democratic Governor of South Carolina or Kansas, again, NOBODY would say "she should run for President."

Btw, I'm not even saying she's not qualified or anything like that. I don't know much about her, although the question of how much any governor knows about foreign policy is always a fair one.

The Democrats SUPPOSEDLY have this real deep bench we've all heard about so whether Whitmer runs or not, it won't matter.

I agree that Jeffries' statement was not the best of course of action in this situation. Government officials releasing names and other personal info (including details about family members) in an obvious effort to intimidate isn't the way I think things should be done.

I don't like the idea of officers' families being threatened, but there is another black and white issue here: Is it ok for LEO to be masked while performing their jobs? I don't believe it is.

1. True
2. That might help, but I have a friend in MI, and she’s not as popular as the press makes her out to be.
3. The “kidnapping plot” was an FBI entrapment operation and Dems know it. Living as we do in an age where half the country has stopped trusting our institutions, this is the wrong sort of red meat to toss out there. She won’t be victimized, but villainized.

That spin was put on the clip by the poster. He also said nothing about doxxing. That spin was put on the clip by you.
