It shows that Freeze has never outgrown the blinkered ultra-short-horizon thinking that got him in trouble at OM. Rather than just owning the losses, he pants out a ridiculous statement that he would win the next 9. Just nutty nutulous nutcake lunacy. He said the same thing more or less that he should have won 2 more of the games be played against Saban. Nutty delusional ego-stroking rather than just admit he got beat.

He also says things that imply his play designs and play calls are perfect, it's just that his players mess them up. Auburn should send him to the NFL, where the players are better.

Given that both coordinators probably knew they were getting their walking papers regardless of the outcome and Etheridge and Cadillac Williams were involved in a Title IX investigation which had them on shaky ground at the time, Freeze‘s “excuse” makes little sense. You’ve got about half your staff completely disengaged and “you left the game plan up to them”? It doesn’t pass the smell test and points to him scapegoating his coaches.

And if Freeze DID do this, he is even dumber than he looks…..and that is pretty darn dumb.

I guess I take a wait and see approach with this one. I think Auburn is a competant QB away from being pretty decent. They have the skill guys. They just someone who stops throwing the ball to the other team. I think writing them off past this season would be a mistake. They have money and if they throw it a QB in the portal, they could quickly become relevant again.

Maybe, if 7-6 or 8-4 means relevant.

Kinda related ... if he has truly cut out the immoral stuff, then it's plausible he's struggling to be the person/coach he "used to be" yet without the emotional rush that came from the risky behavior. Tiger Woods never seemed to find his competitive drive once his issues became public.
