2016 Election - Clinton: The Hillary Clinton Thread

It could be Parkinson's....which would explain the forgetfulness if she's having the dementia. No physical tremors I can see....but for some it's mild.
This is the issue with the pneumonia thing for Clinton: while her health is a legitimate question (for both her and Trump), it does not validate crazy conspiracy theories about her well-being. And that can be a hard line for many to toe.

The reality is that, given the absurd number of working hours each day we've seen from Clinton, she cannot be that sick. I cannot speculate on whether she has a viral or bacterial pneumonia, but older people who fare poorly with pneumonia are typically bedridden. Immobility and shallow breathing (from lying in bed) keep the lung partly collapsed, which is a nidus for bacterial infection to form; bedridden patients with viral pneumonia can develop a secondary bacterial pneumonia because of this. But that just isn't the picture we see with Clinton. She's constantly walking, constantly giving interviews, staying constantly active. Pneumonia can have a very benign course. It can also have a very debilitating one, but this just isn't what it looks like.

BTW, I've yet to see anything even remotely indicative of Parkinsons, so let's just lay that one to rest.

pneumonia is not a broad diagnosis. now if they called it a lung infection or bronchial infection, that would be broad. Pneumonia is pretty specific. I have had pneumonia and it has nearly killed me and I was young.

Thats simply untrue

Death remains a part of the pneumonia spectrum. Not all pneumonias, however, are created equally.

“The problem is we have one word for a disease that comes in lots of different iterations,” as Edelman told The Post.
At its most basic, pneumonia simply means that a germ has inflamed the lung’s air sacs. Cold viruses infect the nose and throat; bronchitis concerns the airways; and pneumonias afflict the dark, wet and warm parts of the lung itself. Making matters more complicated, the pathogens chewing into the lung tissue could be any one of a motley crew of bacteria, viruses or fungi.

The severity of pneumonia is as broad as its possible culprits. At the far end lies a mild disease. The illness is known colloquially as walking pneumonia, so named because the disease rarely knocks anyone out of commission and into bed. Here is likely where we find Clinton, at least based on what her campaign has revealed so far.

Speak for yourself man. I enjoy the 2009 National Championship very much and I will bring it up to a Texas fan all day long.

In that game - your team knocked out the starting QB DURING the game - which I think is different than playing a team when they are actually missing their starting QB before the game even begins.

Actually, I'm embarrassed because this is my job, and I know this.

I think it's obvious I'm functioning on two hours sleep, ha ha.

I think what's bizarre here is the Clintonian overlap. She's trying to subtly run on the notion that being the First Lady (although not first in Bill's eyes, ha ha) actually qualifies as relevant to holding the office of President. Wrapped up in that notion seems to be a twin conflation: she is seen as a liar not only because of her own lies (like Bosnian sniper fire or ISIS is using Trump to recruit videos) but because Bill was known as such a liar. In other words, not only is 'his experience hers,' so are his lies and misleadings and shadings of the truth. It's probably unfair because as much as I despise the woman, she's been nowhere near as bad as Bill was about lying. And I'm excluding his lying under oath.

Yet at the same time she pleads ignorance in regard to classification. I am not believing you could live in the White House 8 years and not know that you had to keep the country's secrets. I do however believe that the Clintons and probably many other politicians like to drop knowledge to impress friends and supporters (donors). You can't claim to know everything while claiming no knowledge of things that cause you issues.

Seriously? Your misunderstanding could be clarified by a first year medical student. It's okay to be wrong about something; it's less okay to be wrong and belligerent.

My point was if your specialty is psychiatry, I am not taking medical advice from you. If it’s orthopedics, I will only call if I have a broken leg or torn ligaments. Not trying to offend.

When the official diagnosis is pneumonia, there seem to be plenty of armchair physicians disagreeing.
I wonder if the response would be the same of the diagnosis was Mad Cow Disease.

I also don't mean to offend, but there are some things that are so basic, any doctor would have to know them to pass boards and set foot in a hospital. This is one of those things. A psychiatrist may not be up to date on which antibiotics are best for a given organism, but they will almost certainly know the basic pathology behind one of the most common diseases seen in a hospital setting.
