So, let's think this through. A bunch of coeds, all on their own, got together and said "Hey, a good idea would be for a group of us to get together and go to recruits' games and encourage them to come to UT." "Well, who are the recruits?" "Well, by NCAA regs, we can't involve the staff, so we'll have to go to Scout or Rivals and figure out who those recruits are." "Aw, those guys don't know what they're talking about or who we're really interested in." "Doesn't matter, we can't ask the staff; we can't even call them." "I'll look at the papers tomorrow and figure out who they are and I'll text you all." "Er, do you have a credit card?" "What do you mean?" "Well, who's going to pay for the gas, or rooms, if we have to stay over?" "Oh!" "OK, just go on home. When I talk to you tomorrow, it'll all be figured out - who the guys are, the signs will be made and all the expenses. Just don't forget to put your faces on." "And, I won't call the staff..."

I am amazed at how quickly Lane Kiffin has turned Tennessee into whatever it is they are. Multiple arrests, possibly sending girls to do who knows what with recruits, running his smart a.. mouth everytime he sees a microphone, already has like 6 violations prior to this. I hope the NCAA digs into this to the max. Have a feeling UCheat is gonna get the boom lowered on them.

In my opinion this guy is a classless spoiled brat who trys to break every rule he can get away with and who will end up dragging Tennessee down with him in the short time he is there.

Oh well i guess you get what you pay for.

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4737332"]Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin says NCAA recruiting investigation is a compliment - ESPN[/ame]
Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin said he takes investigations of the school's recruiting practices as a compliment.

Kiffin said the strength of Tennessee's recruiting class, ranked by most analysts near the top nationally, has caused the unusual amount of interest in the Volunteers' methods, which are under investigation by the NCAA and the Southeastern Conference.

"I think when it comes to recruiting, we're at the highest level, and I think that people really want to know what we're doing," Kiffin said after practice Saturday. "They want to know how are we able to get interest from so many great players, and sign so many great players, so I think you have a lot of people coming at us."

I respect several Vols Fans and I respect that they are going to support their team. We do the same. :BigA:

I do not care for CLK because I think he is immature and acts like a jerk.
He disrespects other coaches, schools, and his lack of respect for rules, the SEC and and the NCAA, has cast a poor image of the SEC. I hate to say that Al Davis was right, but he is looking smarter every day, for dumping CLK...
One day, Lane may grow up and become a good coach, but that won't get him on my 'A-List'.
CLK is what happens when you hire a coach too fast...
Wake up Tennessee. You know what you need to do.

As much as I hate to admit it, Tennessee is better than Lane Kiffin. He belongs at the Barn, with their Silly Sally fans.

Wow. So Kiffin has the NZAA breathing down his neck, and he more or less mocks them, saying that having them sniff around is a compliment? Seems like somebody is messing withe bull. Mess with the bull, and eventually you will get the horns.

A compliment? Lane; what in the world are you smoking? Let's see if you think the same thing if the NCAA pays a visit to town.... and spend a ton of time with you and your THUG program.

"Cutting edge" tactics. Or I guess that's the way it seems to him...
If that's the case, then he's trying to recycle history, because it has already been done years ago.
I guess trying to impress potential recruits with dignity and character is passe...it's a shame, and in a way I think society bears some responsibility, because we tolerate and in many cases actually reward such boorish behavior.

Let me add to this; Lane Kiffin isn't an idiot, but he is stupid if he thinks the powers that be will look the other way. He might get away with that on the left coast (or cereal coast, as I like to think of it, and before anybody flames me, I have a brother and his family out there) where those qualities are in very short supply (it's about style, not substance), but that simply won't fly here in the South, at least not before my generation no longer has any say in anything.
I have said this before; I wouldn't be surprised if Slive is, if not the cause of this investigation, at least a dependable contributor to its continuation.

If I were a UT fan I would be embarrassed. Kiffin is going to ruin that program, which wouldn't bother me.

If I were over the administration at UT, I would fire Kiffin for breach of contract for embarrassing the program and NCAA issues. I think they could have a valid argument for not having to pay his buyout. I would cut my losses now.

Funny...since it has yet to be determined if there has been any wrong doing. Lets fire him for secondaries and having a big mouth.

Makes sense to me.

If a major sanction comes from this, then I agree with you. Until then, I respectfully disagree.

I just don't understand how the UT faithful continue to look the other way and act like Kiffin is going to get it done. He's a loose canon and his recent statements as well as his numerous others going back to early this year are troubling. It not only embarrasses UT, but also the entire SEC.

Let's not forget also that Kiffin is repeating the same actions that got him in trouble in the NFL. He was reprimanded by the NFL for breaking the leagues off-season workout rules by having players practice and suit up during non-authorized times. He played it off as though he was just having "tough practices."

Then, Al Davis fired him for his lying and deception, so the precedent is there.
