Re: How we finish

Anyone know anything on Goldman? Heard someone say he has cooled on us. Does that open it up for the Kirven kid? Who are the 1-2-3 players that we still might get?
Some on here have said that we cooled on Goldman for whatever reason (some say a handler has entered the picture).

BET said CNS was quoted yesterday as saying that we aren't finished in this class. Since we didn't get Jenkins and don't look to be getting Goldman, I think we push big for a DL this weekend. Whether that person is Liggins or Ward, I don't know (I have no inside sources; just a regular fan that reads here way too much). Maybe make a push for Kirven as well. I just don't see Bama being in the running for two different DL and get neither and then sign someone at a different position.

I'm not so sure about that. It has always been my impression that Coach recruits to need and then fills spaces with the best available athletes. So, if we miss on all the D Linemen (which is a priority) I wouldn't count out taking a 4 star athlete at another position. :BigA:

Re: How we finish

Another point to consider is the lack of the ability to back count after this year. In previous years, there may have been a reason to leave a spot or two open if you didn't get who you wanted which allowed you to sign that big class the next year. That option is no longer available to the coaches, so they will not want to leave any scholarship on the table if they can help it.

Re: The Official NSD Predictions Thread

The BoL staff just made their final predictions and they only have us adding one more and that is D Tomlinson. A great pickup and just an added bonus at this point.
not the first time I've heard that recently..... would gladly add him and be done. Great upside

Bamamag is also predicting D. Tomlinson to Bama.

Re: The Official NSD Predictions Thread

If I were betting this is how it ends...

1. T.J. Yeldon (Signed)
2. Ryan Anderson (Signed)
3. Chris Black (Signed)
4. Amari Cooper (Signed)
5. Deion Belue (Signed)
6. Travell Dixon (Signed)
7. Dillon Lee (Signed)
8. Alphonse Taylor (Signed)

**3 back count IIRC, so we have 20 spots left**

1. Landon Collins
2. Eddie Williams
3. Reggie Ragland
4. Geno Smith
5. Cyrus Jones
6. Brandon Greene
7. Kenyan Drake
8. Tyler Hayes
9. Denzel Devall
10. Darius Philon
11. Dakota Ball
12. Brandon Hill
13. Alec Morris
14. Darren Lake
15. Caleb Gulledge
16. Kurt Freitag
17. Adam Griffith
---------------------
1. Korren Kirven
2. Dalvin Tomlinson
3. Chris Casher

Greyshirts

1. Justin Taylor
2. Kwon Alexander

Now I don't think we get Kirven AND Tomlinson. Honestly I don't think we get either of the two. I say Casher flips, Taylor gets his scholly, and Kwon is begged to take the greyshirt. If we miss on Kirven/Tomlinson and Hill does not qualify, I think we add Casher/Taylor/Alexander all on scholly to fill the class.

If Gladney qualifies then I think it ends up being Casher/Gladney/Taylor for the last 3 spots.

Biggest question in my mind is do we hold on to a spot for Winston??? I say we should cut bait now and try to add Casher, Taylor, and Kwon if Tomlinson or Kirven does not come.

What makes you think Casher will flip?

No inside info, just all the hot talk out there and the fact Casher is built to play in Bama's 3-4.

I forgot to add that if Casher doesn't flip, I think Taylor/Alexander could get solid offers to join ASAP.

Re: The Official NSD Predictions Thread

Who is the Tomlinson kid? Y'all fill me in.
A 4 star DL from GA that has wanted to commit to UA but we told him to make sure first, basically told him we have to wait a see. He would actually be a really nice pickup. I think the problem was if he would have commited earlier we would have taken him, but he waited and other did and we ramped up on a few more.

Re: The Official NSD Predictions Thread

Everything i've read says tomlinson is a hard working kid and has a very high motor the Entire game.. its a GT/Bama battle for him, i think if Casher wants to come we take him though...but already being the #1 class and the thought of adding one of these guys possibly is just an awesome predicament to be in!! :pDT_git:

Re: The Official NSD Predictions Thread

tomlinson is somebody i've always wanted. he's a state champ wrestler (i think it's him), and, often, wrestlers make great defensive linemen

Yeah he's a wrestler. Look up the thread on him on here. There's an article that has some nice quotes by him.

On top of everything else a great student. Close to a 4.0. There's a recent story up on him on AJC.com's recruiting site.

Kwon is not going to get a summer offer. Staff wants injury and time to add weight.

Kirven is going to UT.

Tomlinson is ahead of Casher.

Staff no longer as confident on Winston
