Most likely a typo that just left off the S. Terrapin is used without the S in some instances by Maryland, such as the "Terrapin Booster Club", but the word is pluralized as well.

My past job had me covering Lamar county, including Millport, and I drove by a sign recognizing the Jr. Tide many times.

Well they used to be the Orangemen which was plural but that was politically incorrect and offended the little known race of people from Orangia so they had to change their name.

Stanford used to be the Indians but changed to Cardinal (yes - the color not the bird) to be politically correct before you even had to out here, and they have a tree for a mascot!! Also, their band is idiotic.
