What if Shane really left the lead character in the hospital so he would die and he could have his wife? Maybe Shane has been a bad person all along?

I only have one critique, more violence!Less talking and emotional crud. By this time they should have their act together and plans laid out in case they got separated. For starters don't separate! Also if I have a gun and we are being hunted by flesh eating zombies you ain't taking my gun away from me!If you do I sure as heck ain't going to go looking in the woods for anything. And how does the house have electricity? And no zombies attacking it? I mean every freaking light in the house is on. Its like a zombie magnet.

Here is what I'm doing I'm finding an armory or sheriff/cop station/pawn shop and getting extra guns and ammo, every army truck I see I'm checking for ammo rounds. Second I'm finding a fedex semi with a short trailer and then I'm finding the nearest distribution center or food delivery warehouse and loading up.Third I'm finding a small town near a dam, preferably with a radio station, and cleaning it out, burning zombies off as I kill em. And from there I'm working my way out in a pattern clearing out towns but always using the first town as my home base. I will reform government and start the process of creating a stable society.

I will also burn down auburn and clear out Tuscaloosa, which will be the new White house of America :)

I love Shane's character but I don't know if his character will be on the show much longer. In the comics Shane is killed by Carl after Shane try to assassinate Rick in the woods. Shane is one of the few good characters with character development on the show (the other character I love is Daryl the redneck) so I would be conflicted if they follow the comics and killed off Shane. As for Otis, I knew he was going to be killed, but that was Travis Bickle like by Shane.

One more thought, will they PLEASE end this Sophia storyline. It serves no purpose.

Love this show, watched season 1 on Netflix and now I am trying to keep up with season 2. Can't believe Shane did that to Otis either! Couple of observations/opinions of mine:

1.
- Glenn is constantly given the short end of the stick. If I were him I wouldn't put up with it
- Andrea is my least favorite character, just complaining and being negative all the time

2. this group is very poorly organized
- why do they not have a buddy system? people are always getting in trouble because they separate
- so guns attract more zombies and they'd rather not use them. Well before firearms they had these things called spears (or pikes) and they used them to keep the enemy at a safe distance while killing them. Seems to me that one would want to kill a zombie from as far away as possible. But no, they stick to using baseball bats and knives. Wouldn't be too hard to sharpen a sapling...
- they are not very good at keeping security. Personally I would camp where I had about 300-400yds of cleared ground around me. I want to see whats coming for a long way off

BFANLC, I like your plan!

Anyways, I am waiting for the episode when they run into zombie Gus or Morgan...

In regards to pikes, I'm pretty certain the reason they use blunt objects is that they have to bash the zombies in the head.

last night was pretty good. I don't know where the pregnancy bit will go....will it lead to a "I don't know if it's Rick's or Shane's", or will it lead to a "what a crappy time to bring a kid into the world" thingy?

Shane is starting to lose it. And they showed Daryl's brother....don't know if that's going to be a 'dream', or if he really is alive and somehow found his way, coincidentally, to the same exact woods that the crew is in.

I don't think I've seen an episode yet that left me disappointed. Season 2 is a homerun with me.

Shane is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.

RE: Shane not shooting Otis in the head. I think part of it was he didn't want to be solely responsible for Otis's death. Sure he had his blood on his hands, but it was the Zombies that actually killed him.

RE: Merle. I gotta think it's a dream. They showed an extended clip during Hell on Wheels for next weeks episode, and Daryl gets knocked off his horse and takes a pretty bad fall. Gotta think he's hallucinating when he see's Merle.

RE: Hell on Wheels, only got to watch the first half hour, but looks pretty awesome. I watch too much TV, but hey, there have only been 1-2 good movies per year lately. All the writers seem to have taken their talent to television and I'm loving it.

RE: Andrea, yeah she whines and complains a lot, but no one will give her a gun. Better yet, no one will give her her gun which she actually owns. Living in a world where death is around every corner and I don't get to carry a gun that belongs to me? Hell yeah I'd be ....ed.

RE: The bloated zombie last night. Uggh.. Awful to watch.

RE: (There are NO spoilers here) Spoilers from comics. I read the wiki page from The Walking Dead comic just to see how the compared so far. I stopped reading at a certain point so I wouldn't learn anything I didn't want to know yet. But from what I read, they don't line up all that well. In the comics, Shane dies pretty quick, what probably would have been episode 4 or 5 from Season 1. Yet in the show, he's one of the main characters.

As one site pointed out, a pregnancy will complicate the group's standing with their current location... especially since Rick was told "don't expect it to be permanent".

and I never really believed they'd be forced out. I haven't read the spoilers, so I have it my head that at some point, some of them will have to set out on another journey somewhere....but where and why, I don't know.

And I don't mean a journey like last night where they just went into town....I mean a long, drawn out journey...like Fort Benning which was mentioned in Season 1.

I don't think Shane makes those kind of fine distinctions.

By wounding Otis--leaving him screaming and thrashing--he pretty much guarantees that almost all of the zombies will go after Otis. If Otis is dead and Shane is still moving, some will likely continue to pursue Shane.

Well I was thinking along the lines of stab them in the head. Especially if you could tip them with a long thin blade, like a pilum. Anyways I was just thinking that if it was me, I would be trying to come up with a way to kill the zombies quietly without getting into bite range. Or maybe they could find some silencers somewhere for the pistols. I just think they should train/prepare for situations that could very easily happen (and have happened-like getting separated, swarmed, etc). So far they just seem very disorganized to me.

And personally, I would try to keep all my exposed skin covered up if I knew zombies were about. Of course, whatever disease causes the zombie-fication of the dead also gives them diamond-tipped teeth or something, so who knows. I kinda rambled along there, sorry.

I think it's doing a good job of showing that most people would be disorganized, for the most part, in a situation like this.

Also - I think you have to scatter the brains (It also makes for a nice TV visual) - which is why they usually hack a zombie to bits.

Scary? Nah..

Edge of your seat suspensful? Hell yes.

It's fairly gory for TV, but nothing like what you'd see in a movie theatre.
Probably why I haven't heard of it is because of what channel it comes on. I don't know what channel AMC is on.

Would I be lost if I just started watching it?

Not too bad, but I'd definitely start from the beginning if I could. Season 1 was only 6 episodes, and we're only 4 episodes into Season 2 so you could definitely catch up. I think all 4 of this season episodes can be found online.

Here's season 1 on Amazon for $14.
