Steely Dan was really two people Walter Becker and Donald Fagan. The supporting lineup varied through the years but Becker & Fagan were the main force and writers.

Hmmmmm?

Steeley Dan's name: Well of course Steely Dan took their name from the William Burroughs' novel the Naked Lunch-------and that's only half the truth and that's all I'm gonna say! lol

Who was the original drummer?

Jim Hodder played drums on the album "Can't Buy A Thrill." Donald Fagan sang lead vocals on all but three songs, David Palmer was the lead vocalist on the other three.

"Skunk" Baxter was the first guitar player for Steely Dan. I think he played on 3 albums before becoming a Doobie Brother. "Skunk" is now a high level missle defense expert (self taught) hired by the Bush administration.

Steely Dan was the name of the dildo in "Naked Lunch".

I guess I shouldve said who was one of the original drummers before they became SD .. Chevy Chase was drummer when Becker and Fagen were in college.
