Most of us on here said he would be better to wait for another opening. Tennessee was already a dumpster fire before he took the job, it's just a bigger one now and he's in the middle of it. This may very well hurt his future opportunities for another P5 coaching gig, unless he goes to a mid major and serves some time there with above average success. But what a mistake he made by going to UcheaT.
I remember that after Sark’s situation hit the red line some said he’d never be able to get a HC job again. I’m sure that the CNS School of Coaching Rehabilitation could do wonders.

Just a lot of common sense with this post. I realized that Pruitt had experience playing against UT. Probably respected their program. But it would seem that being in the coaching b'ness would enable a fellow to have insights not available to a common fan. Already been said here. Would be interesting to hear what Pruitt might say over coffee if he felt free to say. Serious politics most likely.

The fans of Bama and UT have always bantered back and forth as far back as I can recall. Some respectful and some not. But I always remembered UT fans as always verbally confident against any school. Always OVERCONFIDENT when the opponent was Bama. Was always puzzled by that. I lost by job in B'ham as a result of Desert Storm. Found employment in Nashville which req'd my relocation. But I didnt leave my past with Southern Roots or as a fan. During the early nineties..I heard all kinds of things said about Alabama the STATE. Long story there. I heard the cheers when the ncaa honored Fulmer's wishes almost to shutting Bama down. That was all that was left to do. Since Saban has been on the scene...it has gotten quieter..and quieter...and quieter still. I dont think 14 in a row vs Bama did all of this. Rather..I think that Rocky Top was actually Rotten Top all along. Their fans have had a hard time. With more to come apparently. Who knows what lies in the future? Our place as tops in the SEC and national prominence will fade one day most likely. Glad I got to be around while they experienced life on the bottom even though I feel bad for their good fans, but every slur I ever heard has been vindicated. And it had nothing to do with 14 in a row.

JP will come back to Bama, rehab his reputation and enhance our defense at the same time, spend @ 3-5 years here at UT's expense, and then be ready for a P5 job. He's too good of a coach to be sidelined...and CNS loves a reclamation project. BTW, that last aspect of CNS' personality/character is and incredibly admirable trait. He doesn't have to do these...and yet he does time and again.
JP may have a show cause slapped on him or may be too toxic otherwise to hire anytime soon. I hope for his sake he gets his buyout because I think he’s out of coaching for a good while if this investigation goes the way it looks.

Edit: then again, Freeze, so you never know

Anybody think Fulmer might be angling to return to the UTe head coaching slot himself?

On an ”interim” basis, of course.

VolNation is a good read right now. They do allow language we don’t, so I won’t link it. But it’s worth a visit.

This whole situation, dating back to the last couple of years of Fulmer's time as UTe's head coach, just might be Karma's best job ever.

I do hate that it looks like Pruitt got caught up in Karma's backwash. But as many others have said, dealing with a backstabbing AD was entirely foreseeable, and he would have had other, more stable opportunities if he'd waited a year or two.

The problem he might have regarding a slot in the Saban Institute for Wayward Coaches is that his potential downfall doesn't appear to be the result of wins and losses or personal demons. It might be the NCAA.

If that's the case, I'm not sure that the SIWC has a program for that.

Some UT friends of mine Were talking that Jeremy Pruitt was a plant to hurt Tennessee. I couldn’t help myself, without hesitation I told them he was part of a master plan from the Red Elephant Club to put Tennessee out of the football business!

They are just now figuring that out now? Got to give it to the REC. They were able to get all 45 coaches that were offered the job before Prewitt to turn it down. Then they insert their man.

UT fans are a special kind of stupid.

Remember how fourteenessee fans hated Butch Jones?

😂

I saw that, and for the life of me can’t understand how 87.3% (that’s more than 7 out of 8!) think it’s NOT Fulmer who caused the most damage.

In fairness, in my visits to VolNation, the UTe fanbase seems to be divided. Some adamantly believe Fulmer is the core problem, and that nothing will truly change until he’s completely ousted. A few still believe that he’s the savior. Most look elsewhere, mainly Tuscaloosa, to pin blame..

As an earlier poster noted, they’re a special kind of stupid.

Yeah, but fulmer gets a pass from many because he brought fourteenessee their only NC in the last 50+ years. Without him, its been 53 years since they won it all, and will likely be many more before that drought is broken...

I agree that many in the UTe fanbase think that....but they’re wrong.

That championship was much more a product of David Cutcliffe and John Chavis than it was Fulmer.

It takes the aforementioned special kind of stupid for their fans not to see that.
