This has to be Saban's best coaching job

Unfortunately, I have heard this statement at the end of the last 3 years. I am ready for a Normal Nick coaching job.
THIS!

Give me the Nick Saban that doesn't have to wow you with his coaching because he takes his better players, adequately prepares them, and allows them to squash the life out of you.

I really miss that Saban.

If we make the NCG regardless of that result I think he should win every COTY award that exists.

2015 was another stellar job but even that team didn’t improve as much as this 2023 team has.

We have to hope the IB was an anomaly and not a regression and then FINISH.
Coach Drink has SEC COTY locked up. Maybe Drink or Sark or Lanning for National

That Saban is gone and isn’t coming back.

Plus, the talent gap has closed with the better programs and the portal and NIL have made things totally whackadoodle.

I miss him too but I don't think he's ever coming back at this point.

He's mellowed and doesn't hate to lose quite as much as he used to.

If we had 2007-2015 CNS we probably would have won NC's in 2021 and 2022 because he would have already sent BoB and Golding packing and put his foot in all the players butts and eliminated the "anxiety".

I don't know about Coach of the year awards, but as far as growth it is. In fact, "Overall team" Improvement and growth from the beginning of the year until now I believe it is one of the best I've seen ever. So, I think it is his best coaching job.
Win or lose on Saturday, there’s been steady all-around improvement over the season.

It may not be his best coaching job, but it’s an example of great management.

I would say 2020 was his best coaching job due to Covid difficulties and all SEC schedule. A national title this year would top 2020.

He replaced the OC and DC this year. I am sure he delegates a lot of the work to the assistant coaches and coordinators. But it appears since the Texas game he has gotten more involved in the devlopment of Milroe. And I dont think for a second he has lost his passion or desire for winning. Hes not 50 years old any more and you tend to not show as many outward emotions once you past the mid 60's. That flame has to burn hot inside we just dont see it as much. If you could replace him with any other coach right not for the SEC championship game and the BCS playoffs who would it be? I cant think of a single soul that I would choose, not even Kirby.

It's a great coaching job marred by the fact they didn't identify Milroe as the obvious leader of this team in the offseason and set him up for early season success.

I don’t think CNS gets any post season awards but I love the job he has done with this group. It has 2015 written all over it if they can get in the CFP.

I am so happy to be proven wrong. Like the OP I thought this was going to be a 3 loss team. Awesome coaching job and great effort out of the players. I hope they get the chance to compete for a natty, but either way this is a year we should be honored to have watched..... and next yr is looking pretty good!!!
