This is why you should not email goober journalists....

You folks are correct. Its better not to return fire. matt hayes has his on problems with credibility. Its clear no one in the SEC likes the man. Tennessee fans waited and got their shot at ole predictable matt.

Yale according to the link isn't the only college doing studies on sports writers and their bias reporting.

Absolutely embarrassing.
I'll bet 99 percent of those who responded in such a dignified "classy" way, are also among the same who say "Who cares about the media and what they think of Alabama and Nick Saban?!"
Strict facts don't sell newspapers, magazines or tune folks in to the evening news anymore. It's why there are things called blogs, preseason polls, billions of $$ in online advertising, and "columnists," whose sole job is to cause as much chatter as possible. Anybody think that Infiniti ad on Matt Hayes' page came cheaply? Every one of us who visited that page helped pay for it.

First, 1000+ Bama fans probably emailed him (probably more). Second, the South Park rule of retardation states that 1 out of every 4 people are idiots, therefore he probably received 250+ emails that were written by absolute idiots.
I guess that applies to journalist as well.... oh wait, :p you said absolute idiots, I guess the other three journalist are just plain idiots......:biggrin2:

I guess Joe Namath was right, journalism school is easy......

hate the sport writers. Well not all of them. Check out the teeth on matt the mouth.

Cecil Hurt is one of my favorite sports journalist. He writes with passion and the love of the sport. There are some writers who will win the approval of most fans. Cecil is one of those writers. Others who write crap get it back two fold, thinking that is the way life works only to be passed over. Passed over for sports editor, sport director, and other positions that separate the truly gifted writer from the matt hayes who just keep missing the boat.

Anytime there is a tornado they find the only redneck with no shirt on holding a beer and ask him what happened. Cause he's the only one there. No because it more sensationalized. He's playing the reader for all it's worth.

Some never learned the concept of "pick and choose your battles." And, unfortunately, the knuckleheads with enough free time to enage in futile efforts probably don't realize that they are the object of ridicule. As someone on this board once wrote, "Stupidity ought to be painful." Ingrained aversion therapy -- that's probably the only way a lot of people will get it.

The message is usually bad enough when people send emails to journalists without thinking it through. They usually step up to the plate to prove exactly what the writer was saying in the 1st place. What bothers me even more, though, are those who can't spell or use proper grammar. Talk about reinforcing stereotypes!
