ok guys, this is a non-bama discussion since i really got tired reading deep analysis that break down the team strategy and personnel to shreds from people who are only exposed to it for only 3 hrs out of a whole week. :conf2: So.... here's a stab at something else.. as of this point of the season, who do you project to be the first 5 names to be drafted in the next NFL draft, free to use juniors and seniors....

McFadden would likely be a top 5 if he come out early, which is probably to be expected. Brohm was considered the top QB, but with how UL is playing, he might slip. Not sure if Brennan or Woodson would take the top QB spot, but there would definitely be a QB in the top 5. Jake Long, the LT from Michigan would likely be a top 10 pick, probably top 5. Dorsey from LSU is going to be a very high pick. The 3 listed, plus one of the 3 QBs mentioned are likely 4 of the top 10 picks, but a lot will be determined from combines and how the rest of the season unfolds. I don't really follow NFL draft status until the draft rolls around, so while my picks might be 1st team All-Americans, it might not translate to what NFL teams look for.

Mike Hart, Limas Sweed, DJ Hall, Boise St RB, GA Tech RB. There should be a ton of players in this years class fighting for first round slots.

I can see the first pick being McFadden, Glenn Dorsey, or Brohm. While I like DJ Hall I see him being a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I'm not sure he has the work ethic the pros are working for.

If I were picking, I would grab Darren McFadden in a heartbeat. I still feel that he is by far the most talented player in the country, and the most complete back in this year's potential draft. Mike hart is right behind him, though.

Brian Brohm's status has fallen due to UL implosion this season, but I hardly think that his play is the reason for the downfall of the Cardinals. I expect that Bobby Petrino will draft Brohm if Brohm is still available in the first round. I do wonder if Brohm has the arm strength to be a success in the NFL. He seems like another Danny Wuerffel to me, and arm strength was always an issue with Wuerffel.

Jake Long should be the first OL taken in the draft, potentially in the top five. Glenn Dorsey also should be top ten.

I think that Andre Woodson is probably the best QB in this year's draft. Right behind him is the QB from BC, Matt Ryan.

I'm not sure what his eligibility is, but if DeSean Jackson from Cal elects to enter the draft, I believe he'll be a first round pick.

Other defenders that would likely be a first rounder: James Laurinaitis, LB (OSU), Ali Highsmith, LB (LSU), Chevis Jackson, CB (LSU), and a number of players from USC.

I don't know if he will be a first round pick, but I don't think it is because of a poor work ethic. He has battled through injuries and has made major improvements each season. He was not very highly touted coming out of high school and is not one of the best receivers in the SEC. I am not trying to argue with you, but I would like to know what he has done to show a poor work ethic? I know he missed workouts in the summer before the 2006 season, but no one really knows why. It seems to me he really could have had family matters to tend to in Florida.

It really boils down to what NFL team has the first pick and what their most pressing need is. If it's QB, i'd say Brian B. If D-Line, Dorsey is the most likely. I'm speaking of course of the #1 pick overall. It's really hard to say though. Who'd have thought Brady Quinn would have went in the 20's!!!!

I am guessing it's because of his taking plays off during the CBS broadcast of the Alabama-FSU game. I don't know how representative that is of his work ethic, but it sure doesn't help his image.

Sweed is out for the season w/an aggravated wrist injury... apparently he played on it and said it didnt hurt that bad but it really did

Doesn't mean that he will drop out of the first round on draft day? If he can turn in decent numbers at the combines, he will still get draft late first or early second round. He is too good.
