Supposedly, homeboy is going to make a statement from PGA headquarters Friday morning. Unfortunately there won't be a Q&A.

That is all. The world may begin to spin properly now.

I hope it's on TV. If he's really been celibate all this time, it'll "Dr. Strangelove" in reverse. Instead of the hand flying up, it'll be flying down... :D

The Golden Bear roasted him the other day and it was great. I have been waiting for another legend to call Tiger out and tell him basically to 1) be a man and 2) show some real respect for the game. Loved it.
Be a man? OKay.

But show some real respect for the game? How has he not shown respect for the game? I've heard this said many times and do not understand it at all.

Evidently you have never been treated to one of Tiger's outbursts after a bad shot in which he displays his repertoire of gutter language or abuses the offending club or section of turf.:eek2:

Yeah and I've seen just about every other golfer do the same thing. They just don't have as many cameras on them.

If that is your example of not respecting the game. Fine now I know that argument holds no weight with me. Good to know.

I'm not so sure JN gives a crap whether it holds weight with you or not. Name all of these golfers doing the same thing. There are a few but not nearly as many as you try to make it seem. The No. 1 golfer should hold himself to a standard and try to lift others to that level.

It's not respect for the game you're apparently worried about. It's respect for YOUR vision of how the game should be played or YOUR standard of decorum. I can't name every golfer I've seen cuss or throw a club or kick the turf when they mi.... a shot or catch a bad break. why? Cause I don't care. I'm watching a game, and they play it well.

Tiger Woods does hold himself to another standard...of play. And he's does his level best to get the rest of the field to rise to it...with limited success. I don't care if he drops an f-bomb or says dammit to himself after he shanks one. Why should I?

Just like JN doesn't care that that argument doesn't hold any water for me, there's not a single pro golfer who cares about your opinion of how the game should be played. Every Golfer on the pro tour has more respect for that particular game than you or I will ever have. Why? Because to get to that level it had to mean everything to them, and to a lot of them it still means everything.

Perhaps, but I really don't care for the image of golf as a "gentlemen's game". The money involved has changed the sport - for the better. Players around the world are working harder. Scores are dropping, even as courses get more difficult. And the players are not as "docile" as they used to be.

Tiger may be a sexist and a jerk, but he is still the best to ever play the game. CNS curses like a sailor on the sidelines. I don't see many Bama fans ripping him for it...
