Overlooked lean indicators regarding Tebow?

I think part of Tebow's agreement with ESPN is that he not do anything to tip off the media or the public regarding his leanings. However, there are two things that do sorta stick out, which may have afforded some indication:

1. It has been mentioned by other recruits during interviews that Tim Tebow was doing some recruiting of his own...talking up the virtues of playing at Alabama.

2. While TT has been very respectful and complimentary of all the coaching staffs of his top 5 schools, Mike Shula is the only Head Coach for which I've heard him offer specific, identifiable traits and aspects that he liked. His comments regarding other coaches & staffs have been more canned and generic in nature.

Of course, Florida's recent commitments could indicate TT has started recruiting for the Gators. Its definately tough reading the tea leaves on this one. RTR.

With Hard Work, Nease Puts An End To Jokes
College recruiters flock to Nease's campus. ESPN has followed Tebow's every move this season and plans a documentary.

"I try not to get too caught up in it, but this is definitely a story I'm going to tell my grandkids," Silvoy said.

The latest chapter was Friday's 31-14 home state semifinal victory against previously unbeaten Pace, in which Tebow passed for 245 yards (including a 97-yard touchdown to Ellis) and ran for 90 more. Nease uses a spread option/run-and-shoot style offense that resembles what Florida coach Urban Meyer ran last season at Utah.

Tebow plays the role of Alex Smith - and the similarities range from his quick-thinking mastery of defensive tendencies to his blond hair and easy-going off-field manner.

Yea but ESPN has already gotten good ratings. With all of the rumors swirling around EVERYONE is going to be tuned in for this special on this guy. I want him to come to Bama, I just wish he'd go ahead and do it already. :) RTR!!

Tebow is going to announce his commitment at Nease High School on Tuesday 13th at 4pm (CST). The ESPN2 documentary is the following night at 9pm (CST).

Faces of Sports: Tim Tebow

Coach Shula will get the last in home visit on the evening of the 12th to try and seal the deal. There are whispers from all sort of sources that seem to indicate that Bama fans will be really happy with Tebow's decision.

I am reading that even some of the Gator fans are starting to believe Tebow will be wearing the Crimson jersey. I read that some think the fact that Tebow recently changed the location of his announcement from a Gator hangout to Nease HS is a very bad sign.

I read quotes from one that said...

Tebow to Bama. He would tell the Bama coaches not to come to Fla if he was announcing for Fla.

He is Bama's. No doubt in my mind. Why would the coaches visit... Use common sense folks.
Commonn sense disclaimer: Of course as always anything can happen in recruiting and things can change. The only person that really knows the situation is Tim Tebow and he could change his mind at any time to go in any direction.

Nease QB humble in his quest for championship

Nease QB humble in his quest for championship
Every day, he reads the Bible.

And whenever possible, he spreads the word. Last summer it was in the Philippines, in prisons, and to thousands in overflowing school auditoriums.

Though he speaks softly, he is commanding. He is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, with cables in his neck and softballs for biceps. He bench presses nearly 400 pounds.

BamaCorvin...

Couple of tidbits to pass along for your enjoyment. First, some of the staff at Nease are sold that TT is a Bama lock. Second, TT has changed the location of his press conference to his school... from what I understand, the first place was a local Gator hangout. The second reason is why a lot of the Gator fans are starting to feel the TIDE turning.

Ok, the location thing has been taken way out of proportion.....ok, it's FL....there's going to be only UF or FSU or Miami hangouts....no Bama ones. Second, it's where Nease has a lot of events. Third, they moved it b/c of the amount of media and people who were going to attend.

It seems every time we're in the running for a bigtime recruit we always get the short end of the stick. Sooner or later we hit! I feel like TT is on the way to T-Town! Tim Tebow=TT T-Town=TT See any similarities?

The greater effect of landing Tebow

If anyone remembers when Zook landed Chris Leak, this is probably the exact same scenario that would play out if we somehow pulled in Tim Tebow. Leak was a phenomenal recruiter and he helped Zook haul in the best class in the nation. Commitments usually come in bunches and great players want to play with other great players.

If Tebow commits, it's possible that we could land 1 other 5* prospect and at least 8 other 4*s. This would certainly have to be considered one the best classes in the nation especially if everyone qualified academically. It would signify that Bama is back on the recruiting scene. A place we've been absent from for a few years now.

People say we will be ok if Tebow goes to Florida and they're proabably right, but with Tim Tebow this could shape up to be the one of best classes in the history of our program. They could be a group that can accomplish great things during their time here. That's what makes his commitment so critical.

You're exactly right Doc. Getting Tebow would change things dramatically for the better. I don't think it will happen, but if it does, we'll be "back" sooner rather than later.

I think we have an excellent shot at landing Tim. Knowing Coach Shula is making the last visit before he discloses his decision makes me feel better. Tim is indeed a rare young man and we will be better off with him than without. I do wish him the best in whatever he decides to do. I hope Tuesday he puts on that crimson cap with a script A and declairs Alabama his school of choice.

DRG of course you are right.

I also believe landing TT would be a great help in our recruiting class. However,I still have questions on whether he picks Bama, many players watching his commitment have gone to UF or or leaning that way! I sure hope he picks UA anyway b/c he is a good kid as well as a prospect. That said I feel it's 60-40 UF anyway, hope my gut feel is wrong.
