I think Tebow like most really high profile QB's in the south will take a serious look at Alabama because 1) We are an SEC contender -finally 2) We run the pro set offense 3) We have a high profile Senior QB vacating the spot.

In Brody's wake we have three untested guys who nobody knows much about, Tebow would probably figure he has a good shot at earning playing time early at Alabama under those circumstances, While I think it would be hard for Tebow to unseat JPW in one fall camp with JPW's having two springs and the fall, it wouldn't be out of the question for him to win #2 and be in a position to take over should JPW go down, and after that entering the next spring its really anyones game.

To say the least the QB battle this spring will be interesting and adding somebody like Tebow to the mix would make the fall even MORE interesting.

Coach Shula was on the FAITH channel 2 years ago and he hardly mentioned football. I've talked to several people at church, work, neighbors, and parents of really good football players about his time on the show. We are really lucky to have this man with us.

I kind of agree...

with the drift of the thread. That appalling showing by the UF offense (whatever it is) would make me turn white, if I had to play early. Also, to a QB who thinks he is NFL-bound (all the good ones) any offense with "option" in its name would be anathema. All the prospects Saturday ended up shamelessly cheering the Tide on - even the uncommitted ones. I'll ask specifically about TT. I know that his parents were met with by our officials about academics and they appeared to be impressed. That can't hurt, even if both of them did graduate from UF... :D

That's great that they were impressed with the academics. UF is an excellent academic school. Hopefully, Dr. Whitt is starting to close that gap.

we are still in the running...

I think so too . If we look at the standards he laid out, we might have a chance. Most of the homeshchool kids are christians. Humility an strong character are a part of that. Meyer seemed arrogant, and foolishly slow. I cant imagine anyone coming off as more genuine that CMS. I can see them throwing a football in TTs backyard in my minds eye, talking about what is important in life. Plus we run a pro style offence which will benfit him in the future if he is sucessful at the college level.

Not to stir up any trouble, but ...

Would a text message to a cell phone count as a contact? If so, how many of those type contacts are allowed?

Just wondering...

Well, Ross and Pharr are coming to Bama and if we can get Smith...OMG, can you imagine that OL???? Tim seems to be a good Christian kid and if Brodie who is a fine Christian young man loves Shula, then hopefully Tim would too.

Meyer just seems like a driven man....which is not always the greatest. I can sorta tell that he would put Football above everything as long as they are winning. I bet he talked to God after Saturdays game though and said....WTH????

Come to Bama Tim....relish in the thought that you are wanted here for more than just Football, we want you to set an example of what's right with College Sports for the fine young men that play in the Crimson Jersey!!

Roll Tide and God bless!!

i really dont care what tebow does. if he wants to be part of the revival of the alabama program, come aboard. i cant imagine, any qb not seeing the diffenrence in the pro set of mike shula, and the attempted option of meyer. tebow is not a option qb, josh portis is and was recruited for that job. if any qb, wants to be a pro prospect, they need to look hard at alabama with what coach shula is building there, offensive line, rbs, receivers, defense, style of play. and his personality. it is there for the taking. there will be many wanting the chance. lets be patient and let it happen.

Next Year we'll have John Parker Wilson, Marc Guillon, and Jimmy Barnes. JPW will be a Soph, MG a Senior, and JB will be a Redshirt Freshman.
Lets not forget the best talented qb on our team, Jimmy Johns. He will be the starter for the Tide, next year.

i didn't think about it...

But i also think it helps a lot that CMS was a quarterback in his playing days. I think Shula and Croyle have a certain bond because they were both quarterbacks. I think that would help since TT is a qb

Who is Tim Tebow???
He has been a white-hot topic in recruiting thread on this board for quite some time. Click on "search" up above this part of the page, type in "Tim Tebow", press "enter" and then you better back up. A gazillion references on this board!

i'm guessing that BAMA has been a topic of conversation around the Tebow dinner table many times and i'm betting BAMA is being given serious consideration for several reasons, some of which have been named in the above posts

my two reasons for thinking Tebow will not be a gator next year:

1) urban's offense

2) urban's personality

- just my 2

I have just sent him a email concerning:

"He wants a coach who emphasizes god, academics and family before football."
I will keep you all informed.

By the way:
Earle you may get a bad rap because you are a Lawyer, try being a carsalesman and a (bi- vocational) Pastor.
