Let's go through the Heisman candidate qualifications (generally understood)

1. Player must be the MVP on a team must be undefeated or in national championship contention. Check - Colt Brennan

2. Player must be a junior or a senior. Check - Colt Brennan

3. Player must step up and perform at his peak during big time national tv games.
check - Colt Brennan

Colt plays on the only undefeated team, is by far the MVP, has set tons of national records, plays with the LEAST amount of talent, came back for his senior year and you still want to say he doesn't deserve the Heisman?!?!?!

This is indeed a toss-up. Either one is truly deserving. I would lean toward DMac because this is probably his final shot, but although Tebow is only a soph. there is no guarantee that he will be in this position again. I remember that Peyton Manning was shafted his senior year.

Brennan is a gun slinger. In my opinion he is the best QB in the nation.......:pDT_Armataz_01_40:
So was Timmy Chang. Remember him?

I hate not to give it to McFadden, but Tebow really has carried his entire offense. On the other hand, McFadden has done about everything a running back can do.

I really can't decide.

He doesnt deserve the Heisman, there i said it.

Put Tim Tebow against the likes of SDSU and Utah state and the rest of the 118 ranked schedule of hawaii and he would have 100 total TD's. Put D-Mac against the defenses of the WAC and he would have well over 2500 yards. .

The point is when you only have to play 1 or 2 good teams a year you will put up those numbers, plus when you are throwing the ball 55 times a game you should have 400 yards and 4 TD's. There is no way to know how good he is, he may be great but with that competition and that system he does not deserve the Heisman.

Lest we forget Hawaii won several games without Colt Brennan because it doesnt matter who the QB is in that system.

Brennan should have gone LAST year and was probably more deserving than Troy Smith (but not DMac - he should have won it last year). This year he is not even the best Qb in a pass happy system, that's Graham Harrell. Harrell has as good of numbers and plays MUCH, MUCH better competition week in and week out and has actually beaten some good teams (Oklahoma). This time next year Harrell will probably be the NCAA all time passing leader despite only starting 3 years.

But to the main point: It's Tebow or no one. Yes the media coverage of him is sickening, but objectively he's had the best year. Not only that, he's probably had the best year of any QB in SEC history. He scored (I think) 9 more TDs than any other QB in SEC history and rushed for more TDs than anyone in SEC history.

There's really no serious discussion here: Tebow will win it.

No, he doesn't deserve to win the Heisman. He plays in the freaking WAC, remember? Ty Detmer also put up insane numbers years ago with BYU, but nobody with half a brain would honestly say that he was the best player in CFB and you could add a bunch of Texas Tech QBs to that list too. DMac and Tebow put their numbers up in a big boy league and are much more deserving. I think it should be Tebow because he's doing things nobody has ever done before and DMac is not. Plus TT is doing it at a tougher position and in his first year as a starter. He's even scored more TDs than DMac and on less carries. It should be Tebow in a no-brainer.

I have said it before, I started the season sold on Dmac. But the season TT has had is just crazy, he is scary good. I think he wins it hands down. Not taking anything away from Dmac, he is something special but TT has done things NOBODY has ever done (and done it in the SEC!!!). I think he wins it this year and next (then HOPEFULLY moves on to the NFL early).

tebow. why? put him on any team in the sec and they are potentialy a ncg team. a good qb is best for a team, he opens up run on his own, and can pass at will because the running game can work at any moment. DM on the other hand is limited, maybe he will get a pass play every now and then that goes for big but its easy for a team to shut DM down. teams can shut the run down if there isnt a consistent passing game. tebow opens up run and pass and is consistent at both... DM not so much. rtr

You are right, forgot about MA. His numbers in his senior season were simply amazing...

Yeah, it's amazing when you think about that three of top running backs ever were all playing at the same time (Hershel, Allen and Bo Jackson).

I do think that Hershel would have won the award his freshman year if there was not such a bias against giving it to a freshman. I think that is unfair, though, because you never know if another player might come around by the time he is a junior or senior and keep him from winning it then.

Tebow wins it. He's been in the media spotlight even before he stepped foot on the campus at UF. The Heisman is mainly a popularity contest anyway, and Tebow is by far the most popular player in the country.

i don't know who these clowns will vote for, but if i was fielding a college team and had first pick i'd take brennan by a nose over dmac, and by a mile over tebow.

Maybe if you were fielding a NFL team i would understand this. But you think Brennan would be better on a college team. Tebow is breaking NCAA records in the SEC not the WAC. He and D-mac are head a shoulders above Brennan as far as talent goes. Everybody say it with me, SYSTEM QB, and not even the best system QB, Harrell is better IMO.

I hope you are kidding about picking him first, maybe if you wanted your team to lose you would pick him over Tebow.
