Topic (not a comment): Will Auburn offically lap us this year?

After all the crap, after all the "hell-and-backs" we have had to put up with the past few years; after all that, was this particular LSU/Barn as important to OUR long-term future as SOME would like to make it?

Well was it?

Is our postion in the SEC the same as it was just 48 hours ago?

Is everything just fine?

(For the record, I have no specific opinion.....but I just left 15 hours with a bunch of Aubies, and I can tell you, there is nothing but sunshine pumping from that camp. So, I need a Bama point of view.)

I feel awesome about our direction, but they feel estatic about their's.

Should we be feeling as pumped as they are?

Did the LSU/Aubie game effect our return to the top? Or was it just another game?

Just looking for opinions..............

My opinion: They will not "lap" us, unless we fall completely apart, or, they win the NC this year.

If Bama was ranked #3, had just beaten #6, on a day when #2 lost, and had a leg up on the SECW...wouldn't you be pumped?

AU is in a very good position right now. Bama is struggling to get back into a good position. But all of that can change very quickly. There is a lot of football left to be played. Anything can happen. I still think AU will lose one game, maybe two, before the season is over.

We can't worry about AU now. AU is good. They are ranked highly, they deserve to be ranked highly, and we cannot control what happens to them until the Iron Bowl. A victory over AU will solve a lot of problems for us.

We just have to win.

Having serious help from the goobs in stripes kept AgBarn going today. Big calls were seriously blown to their favor all day. ALL DAY. Les Miles needs to publicly announce his extreme displeasure about the officiating in that game. Skip Bertman should hold a press conference with videographic and photographic proof of the robbery done today. This is akin to the no-call that they got two years ago against us. Absolutely disgusting. How can the SEC claim to be the best conference when incompetent officiating changes the course of the games?

As bad as it pains me to admit it, both LSU and Auburn are better football teams than us right now as are some other teams. The LSU/Auburn game was as physical as I have seen in a while. I don`t think the barn has put a lap on us. We`re just not up to full speed yet...patience grasshopper;) .

If your...

circumstances in life require you to spend 15 hours straight with Barners, then you should probably go through a withdrawal period before you can post rationally. Let's worry about our own little row to hoe, OK? BTW, it's really "ecstatic."

LSU and allbarn are both pretty good teams, but neither one of them is "great" IMO. There were some potential flaws exposed in both of them today, which if unchecked will cost them down the road. Both run defenses looked more than stout, but neither had an especially terrific pass defense especially allbarn. Allbarn is not unbeatable despite what their fan base might think as of right now. They'll go down at some point this season and I can think of no better place than Tuscaloosa!!!

I feel for you...I was also there and had to deal with all of that. Makes you appreciate T-town that much more. Yuck.

If we just beat LSU like that, we'd be pumping some sunshine too.

Not me . I'd find it VERY hard to look anyone in the eye after that scam . I'd also hear this voice in one ear carrying the old reminder of - "what comes around , goes around" .:eek2:

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

As of right now, we're not nearly as good as LSU, the barn, the viles, Florida and UGA. We have a LOT of work to do to have a realistic chance to beat any of them.

I still don't have a good feel for how good Tennessee is or isn't. Florida's run defense really came out swinging this fall; otherwise, I'd say both those teams are better than last year but not unbeatable.

LSU and Auburn are clearly the class of the conference at this point. Everyone knew that before the season started. The SEC East is schizo, with Georgia replacing a QB, Florida in season two of Urban Meyer and Tennessee trying to believe in itself again. Tennessee's psyche is now on the brink; Florida made a giant leap forward.

If Georgia had a QB, they'd be up there with LSU and Auburn. As it is, they're in the big middle.

Here's how I'd rank it right now.

1) AU
2) LSU
---big gap---
3 tie) UF
3 tie) UGA
5) UT
---gap---
6) UA
---small gap---
7) Arkansas
---big gap---
everybody else

In other words, not much different from the first of the year. And I still think UGA will find a way to upset AU.

The only thing that affords some hope, is Bama's odd propensity to play up or down to its competition.

If the Bama team that played this season's first 3 games shows up against Auburn, LSU or Tennessee...it will be horrible to watch. However, you never know what will happen on any given Saturday.

Maybe it's just because I'm new, but I wasn't impressed with the Barn or Florida yesterday. The Barn got about 3 real game changing calls that let them stay in that game. The unsportsmanlike no-call after the no-call pass interference was one of the more blatant examples of home-cooking I've seen in the SEC in a while.

And Florida would have been sunk if Cutcliffe would have had his head screwed on straight. Not saying we're better than them, just saying I wasn't impressed.

i've actually been impressed with vandy so far, even with them being 0-3 i would put them in the same breath as arkansas at this point, they just don't seem as clueless as say, miss. state. i just can't figure erik ainge out, he goes from looking like a seasoned veteran to a 3 year old running from his parents when they get in trouble. however, ut's receivers look much better than they did last season. i think lsu's young d-line answered some questions yesterday, dorsey looks like more than the real deal at this point. kentucky spanks ole siss yesterday 31-14, south carolina almost gets beat by a waffle and miss. state played so they lost.

While I tend to agree, most people were saying the same thing heading into the showdown with Florida last year...

I can certainly understand the assessment as of today but I am not sure about the gaps in strength.

Hawaii absolutely dismantled UNLV last night, Vanderbilt may be a decent team after all and Bama took a big step forward in the ULM game.

This team still has a lot of work to do but is still showing potential to be very good.
