If we used that logic, we should check the bank statements of every football player who signed with us in the immediate aftermath of the Dubosian Debacle. Sometimes a player just wants to play for a certain school, and that feeling is not always driven by a profit motive.

You know what... if you look at all of the players over the year who was from the state of Alabama who signed with schools not named Alabama.... I mean, if Watford signs with another school, I'll be okay with that. This is his decision. He is going to make a decision that benefit him and his family. In the end of the day, We will be fine... If he signs with us, great. if not, we'll be okay. I respect the kid's decision no matter what it is. LSU, Great happy for him. Memphis? Great, I'm happy for him. Alabama? Great! I'm excited for him. I want the kid to do well no matter where he goes.

LSU will be able to offer plenty of playing time since everyone on the team declared for the draft. I guess he is just waiting to see who the new coach will be?

I was referring to the chaos left by his firing and the NCAA investigation. For three or four years, we were nothing short of radioactive ash, and yet players kept coming because they wanted to be here.

Which validates both of our points. If Watford picks Red Stick, it makes no sense ... unless he loves Wade so much he's willing to risk not even playing for him.

If he is convinced that he is going to be one-and-done then he has to be thinking that he could go anywhere and it doesn't matter because he won't have to worry about any consequences that come up in the future.

Which is crazy.....Petty thought he was a one and done. It doesn’t always work out that way. They should plan for multiple years at a school.

Was it the Richard Hendrix thread that went on and on forever like this one? That one was about if he would sign with us versus would he declare for the NBA draft though. For some reason that one came to mind when I noticed that there was more traffic on this one.

I was unable to find it again but, FWIW, one of the Bama hoops twitter feeds that I follow posted yesterday that the chatter about Watford was more pro-Bama recently. I haven't see that personally but I don't follow many people on twitter. I don't follow any recruits or players only coaches, a few media types, and a few Bama related sites and I have seen very little one way or the other about Watford's recruitment recently.

Very very interesting ... not too many times players ask to leave Duke for Memphis ... especially when they haven't even made it to campus. Not sure what to make of it honestly
