Well… that would be a first.
Not disagreeing or even trying to start any kind of debate.
We are in a different place these days wrt how warfare is waged. Much more technology than ever before and much of it using drones and other aerial methods. So I can't blame anyone who doesn't wish to put boots on the ground unless necessary.
That said......who ever saw this kind of event happening? Isn't this the first time a nation as powerful as we are makes the decision to effect drastic change against a terrorist state like Iran?
Seems like we are - and have been - in uncharted waters since day 1. At this point it seems all bets are off on what will happen.
And FWIW.....the IDF has already deployed troops in Lebanon. So we'll see....who knows?
Israel says 'limited' ground operations have begun in Lebanon
Troops are targeting "Hezbollah strongholds" in south Lebanon, where strikes reportedly killed nine people on Monday.
Israeli media reported that three Israeli divisions - amounting to thousands of troops - were now operating in southern Lebanon, with two more due to join them in the next few days.
The ground operations are a new blow to Lebanese sovereignty and will stoke fears of a prolonged Israeli occupation.
On Saturday, US news site Axios reported that Israel was "aiming to seize the entire area south of the Litani river", which is about 30km (20 miles) from the Israeli border.
