That sounds super reasonable. Dont' take anything from anyone just change going forward. The chaos revoking citizenship would cause isn't something we need, and if people were given that citizenship under the past law then they should be left alone.

The West Wing did an episode back in 2001 that featured a senator that wanted to eliminate the penny. Back then almost 2/3 of pennies fell out of circulation because most people just tossed them in jars, drawers or would throw them away. It also takes a ton of zinc and copper to make them. It can cost as much as 4 cents to make each penny.
The penny is worthless and almost useless to most Americans. It should be eliminated.

The media killed their own credibility. I didn’t do it. Go look at their poll numbers. They are in the toilet along with their ratings. Specifically what are we “swallowing” now?
I’m a traditionalist and I once would have been angry to see the penny go but I concede it’s time has passed. There is no real function for it as a standalone coin.
If it does go, stores will round off prices to the nearest nickel. If you are paying by a card of some sort you would still pay the exact amount. I assume stores would still accept pennies if you wanted to pay that way but wouldn’t give them out and banks would no longer distribute them.
