This and the funding freeze EOs are 2 of the dumbest EOs yet both with questionable legality. Not like legality matters to Trump and his MAGA nuts. It just blows my mind how the GOP voters are completely okay with a president having completely unchecked powers. This is not how this country has ever operated in its entire history. They've basically crowned Trump king of the United States, which goes against every principal on which this country was founded.

Is it possible for Trump to make a statement that doesn’t include a lie? Of course, many of his followers will endlessly repeat it as the truth.
I count at least 3 lies in that post. Trump didn't do crap. NASA had already decided to use SpaceX to bring them home many months ago, when they ditched Boeing, and have not deviated from that plan.

The astronauts are not stranded, much less stranded by Biden. That's ridiculous. If anyone "stranded" them it was Boeing and the state of that crappy company. There are plenty of supplies on the ISS and no one up there is in any immediate danger beyond the normal dangers of space travel.

SpaceX launched Crew-9 on September 28. 2 crew members were bumped from this flight to provide room for astronauts Wilmore and Williams on the return flight. NASA asked SpaceX to not bring Crew-9 home until Crew-10 launches and docks with the ISS. NASA asked for this because if Crew-9 leaves before Crew-10 arrives it will leave only 1 astronaut on the ISS, which is not ideal according to NASA. Crew-10 was scheduled to launch on February 25 but pushed back a month at the request of SpaceX in December. They asked for the delay because they need more time to process the new spacecraft being used. That is the plan, that has been the plan for months now.

Trump hasn't done crap, and Elon has done anything new either. Not a shred of truth in that post but, the MAGAs and the right wing propaganda machine are eating it up.

I have very mixed feeling about this. Government needs to be reduced, but I'm skeptical this will accomplish much. A big problem is that the bureaucracy is a Rube Goldberg machine. There are so many unnecessary steps that have to be staffed to get the simplest thing done. (E.g., I just got some replacement dry erase markers for my white board that I ordered about five months ago. We can't just go down the street to Office Depot and get them. Requests have to be approved by a ridiculous amount of people, and that takes a stupid amount of time.)

So, shrinking the workforce without streamlining the RG machine probably won't make government work any better. To really fix government, it will take time and attention to detail. That is something the short-attention-span PTBs don't seem to have.

So, I'm not hating on Trump, et. al. for wanting to reduce the bloat. I'm just skeptical that this approach will achieve much.
I am noticing a softening of your tone regarding dear leader and his wanton disregard for laws, morals, and even the Constitution now that you are in the crosshairs (or at least it sounds like you are).

"Haha what if he blew it all up" isn't quite as funny when you are the one who stands to suffer. I have a feeling a lot of MAGAt's and totally-not's are going to find this out the hard way...

You either have me confused with someone else or are trying to construct the worst strawman ever. I've never been a Trump supporter. Full stop. And I don't see how you think I'm one who stands to suffer. But your misplaced concern is appreciated ... or something.

You must not have watched the riots in the summer, people died and billions of dollars in damages. Go ahead and tell me that’s okay because those people were upset and angry. It’s not like they had people in power commending the destruction they wrought on others.

Some get the pass, and some don’t.

Two sides of the same coin.
I never said it was okay. I said that, to me, one was treason and the other is not. This person, whom we now have to refer to as President, pardoned these people he mislead in order to court his base and I think we will see quite a few of them being rearrested or killed because several are fascist loons or just garden variety loons. It's already started to happen. I'm sure there were plenty of kookooballs among the rioters of the summer. Some were rioters and some were among the people there to control the rioters and then there was also Kyle Rittenhouse. You seem to conveniently forget that there were a lot of protests once Trump was in power. I participated in some of them here in Florida and there was no violence. The riots of August 2020 are a completely different situation than an attack on the Capitol while Congress is in session. It just is. You have your opinion and I have mine.

Dictator Trump strikes again. First Amendment be damned.

Trump administration to cancel student visas of pro-Palestinian protesters

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Some of you voters actually thought Trump would abide by the constitution even though Project 2025 told us nope. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: And I'm supposed to be the brainwashed one. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Eyes closed; heads buried. Heil Trump!
That might be true, but I believe they knew it might happen. And they are perfectly fine with that, since the the crazy conservative/religious agenda is being advanced. Government should be small and very limited unless it's forcing the Republican policies on us. Then it's great!

All I can say is good. Foreign students should have the right to protest, just like citizens, but when those activities involve invading government spaces, vandalizing public property, harassing other students, etc., then you need to be sent back to wherever you came. Don't pass go and don't collect your Federal grant money.
The EO targets people who participated in pro-Palestine protests. Period. Not, "protestors who invaded govt spaces, vandalized, etc."

it seems like there's a very narrow world-view which trump supporters largely share - if you view things as they do, great! If not, not so good...

Trump Says U.S. Will Hold Migrants at Guantánamo
The president suggested 30,000 migrants could be housed on the base. It is unclear how the plan will take shape.

President Trump on Wednesday ordered his administration to prepare to house tens of thousands of “criminal aliens” at the Navy base at Guantánamo Bay, the latest prong in his widening crackdown on immigration.

Mr. Trump did not offer details on how the plan would take shape, but he instructed the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to get the site ready.

“We have 30,000 beds in Guantánamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people,” he said. “Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust the countries to hold them, because we don’t want them coming back, so we’re going to send them out to Guantánamo.”

Somebody didn’t read the entire article. If Trump had stopped at the things you said then I would agree but, he didn’t stop:

"To all the resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protests, we put you on notice: come 2025, we will find you, and we will deport you," Trump said in the fact sheet.

"I will also quickly cancel the student visas of all Hamas sympathizers on college campuses, which have been infested with radicalism like never before," the president said, echoing a 2024 campaign promise.
That’s unconstitutional.

Also, I rather doubt SpaceX has a spare Crew Dragon sitting around to send up now.

Trump Tells DOJ to Prosecute Teachers Who “Unlawfully” Support Trans or Nonbinary Students
The latest executive order also threatens funding for schools that teach about gender and race.

In the executive order issued Wednesday evening, titled “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 schooling,” Trump directs the attorney general to work with local and state officials to investigate teachers who “unlawfully facilitat[e] the social transition of a minor student.” The order defines “social transitioning” to include using a trans student’s name and pronouns, recognizing a student as nonbinary, or allowing them to use the restroom that aligns with their gender identity.

The same section of the order suggests that K-12 teachers and school officials who take action to support trans students’ identities be prosecuted under laws banning sexual exploitation of minors and practicing medicine without a license. There are 3.8 million public school teachers in the United States, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

ENDING RADICAL INDOCTRINATION IN K-12 SCHOOLING

Another solution in search of a problem. This is more fodder for the most ignorant section of the Trump camp. The grandstanding and deception by these liars is never-ending.
