TT drops TCU

According to ESPNDallas.com, Texas Tech has decided to drop the Sept. 10 game against TCU. TCU is not real happy about it. This is the second year in a row that TT has took TCU off the schedule. Very unhappy about how close it is to the start of the season becuase they wanted to play a high profile team........ sounds like something tubs would do

Still sounds like they are wimping out to me. Sounds an awful lot like what he did in 2004...I am trying to remember the team that Auburn dropped (and replaced with a I-AA school) which ended up killing their strenth of schedule that year.

They dropped FSU and I think they replaced them with the Citadel.

Didn't the U. of Auburn drop USCw and replace them with La Monroe?

In 2004 Bowling Green actually dropped Auburn in order to get a bigger paycheck from Oklahoma, and AU replaced them with a 1-AA team. This switch likely gave OU the edge in the computers to make the NC game. The year they dropped FSU was his first season in 1999.

If I remember correctly TCU dropped Ole Miss off of their schedule in 2009.

Arkansas has a home and home with the Horny Toads starting around 2015. I have no idea if it'll come to fruition. The TAMU series was inked after the initial agreement with TCU.

Your mixing things up a tiny bit. The dropping of FSU was NOT Tuberville's idea. That was the vindictive hand of Bobby Lowder. Remember who was coach (full-time) before Wingnut? Terry Bowden. Auburn and FSU had set up a two-game series (home and home) for 1999 and 2000. But after he canned Bowden, Lowder didn't want to touch FSU. Auburn wound up paying about $3 million, strained relations with the ACC (who threatened to never schedule Auburn again), and played (IIRC) App State and Idaho.

or try to run up the score on anyone with an injury problem.

The 11th hour switch from Bowling Green(1A) to The Citadel (1AA) did cost AU whatever chance they may have had to play in the BCSNCG. It was eerily similar to the situation that befell Bama in 1966. Tulane withdrew from the SEC on June 1 and asked to be removed from the '66 Bama schedule. The 11th hour scheduling of La Tech (non 1A at the time) to replace Tulane on the schedule cost Bama the 1966 NC. The ink was not dry on the write up of the La Tech game when both wire services dropped Bama from the top spot.
