Tua's Knee

Jalen has been a good thrower this year. He's still not as quick as Tua at diagnosing a defense but he's not overthrowing dudes by 20 yards or just sailing them out of bounds when he does find the open guy.

His deep ball has gotten better, as well. While JH will never read the field as naturally as TT does, he is doing much better going through his reads. IMO he knows all of our receivers can make a play and isn’t overly focused on an obvious #1 like Ridley.

My take on this thread....... To me, it looked like Tua was uncomfortable the whole Mizzou game. He was not his accurate self and favored his knee. When he made the run where he seemed to aggravate the injury, I did not see anywhere in that play where he planted on that leg to cut or anything of that sort that would worsen the injury. I think he bent it too far and it hurt like crazy. Now I don't pretend to be smarter or know any more than anyone else here...... this is simply what I gathered from the information I got from the CNS press conferences and what I saw on the field. A sprain IS ligament damage. A torn ACL IS a knee sprain, though there are certainly different grades of sprains. Even the grade I sprain is painful and causes swelling. Had Tua had a sprain requiring a procedure, it would have been done already.
I trust the Bama doctors and coaches to make the right choices for the player's health. If Tua plays..... great. If not, that is fine as well. The new and improved Jalen will have no problems running the offense. He is NOT Tua by any stretch of the imagination, but he has been throwing the ball in rhythm for the most part and is looking at different receivers. It is not something we saw from him last year. Bama has also been playing Jacobs a bunch. Jacobs (no offense to Damien who actually has more receiving yards) has the hands of a receiver and is a great dump off guy as obviously Damien is as well. I don't look for Jalen to be able to make the offense as lethal or look as easy as Tua does, but I still think it will be a well oiled machine with balance and more TOP which could actually result in a better performance from the Bama defense. In other words, if Tua is held out for precautionary reasons to heal, I have absolutely no worries that Jalen can Captain the Tide offense with plenty of moxie !! Jalen elected to stay on board knowing he was to be a backup. Bless his heart. It is possible he could see more playing time this week.

If you watch it in slow motion, you can see his cleats catch the ground and snap his leg against his thigh.
Otherwise, good assessment; I agree.

"Tua'sKneeShakeback1-3" has a nice ring to it.

Didn’t we have a user named after someone’s hamstring- or maybe that was another board?

EDIT: I remember now, the guy’s username was Terry Grant’s Hamstring. I think it might have been on the old TideSports board before it went pay.
