I have always stayed in Birmingham for the home games. That 50 miles closer to home on Sunday AM makes things a little easier for me.
I wish their was somewhere between Tuscaloosa and Meridian to stay... That would make the drive back to Texas better on Sunday AM.

I stayed at the Motel 6 for homecoming on Friday night. It was just a room. The only downer was the bed was a single bed that was a double size. We had our two kids with us (5,4) so they got a pallet in the floor. We were only there over night so no biggie. It wasn't dirty, if that's the main thing you're concerned about.

PS: We're avid campers so our definitions of adequate might vary from yours.

There's a Comfort Inn in Livingston...

That's only a few years old and it's right on the interstate. I'm from the area and will be down there this weekend. I'll ask around to see if anyone knows anything about it. It's still just under an hour away from Tuscaloosa but it's a little closer than Meridian.

Thanks Terry!

I know the area was ok when I was there 1990-1995. Since leaving BAMA I have gone to a couple of games each season but, for whatever reason they have been road games, bowl games or games in B-Ham. The lone exception was the No. Illinois game in 2003. We got raped by Super 8 for $159+ tax.

I guess I will keep Motel 6. As long as it is safe and clean $60 a night is not bad. If I am going to spend $150 a night in T-Town I am going to stay at the Sheraton next to campus or the Marriott Courtyard. I can not stand how the hotels price gouge 6 or 7 weekends out of the year.
I stay there all the time. It is clean and has hot water. Bring your own pillow thou!

We've stayed at the Best Western the past couple of years (behind O'Charley's on McFarland). Clean room, good service.

They don't start taking reservations until after the A-Day game, and will in fact, send you a sheet for you to mark the games you'd like to attend. They'll notify you of confirmation within a short time afterwards.
