Yeah this sucks, for obvious reasons. Sure, no one cares as much when you're a jerk if you win. Keyword, "WIN." Of course it comes back and bites you when you lose. Losing to Stanford was one thing, but this BEATDOWN - and it was an absolute beatdown - to AZ was another matter.
Hopefully the coaches stamp out this nonsense from DAT and other players, and gets them motivated to finish the season. As a fan I always support my team win or lose. But at least when we sucked, we always fought hard. You just didn't hear these comments (that I know of) nor did you see this absolute giving up that happened today.
Anyway I totally get why you guys are laughing now. Hell, we deserve it. I don't think Saban would tolerate anything like this from his players. Not sure if Chip would have, either. I'm hoping Helfrich figures out how to get his team together, an 11-2 season is still possible, and in most schools would be a great season. I don't want us to accept mediocrity, but we clearly need to get humble, keep our heads down and take care of business. I feel like most of the players have good attitudes, but the bad comments are permeating the whole team.
I think most OR fans, the ones who don't post on forums all day and print 'we want bama' T Shirts want to see our team play hard, take care of business and show heart in every game. I'm through with the big talk, either walk the walk or keep your mouths shut!!
DeAnthony Thomas' behavior in the Stanford game tee'd me off, and and I'm not even an Oregon fan. The guy that got emotional (Huff I think) because he dropped the pass got razzed, but at least he cared about the game enough to get upset. Thomas was laughing and looked totally unfazed by getting beat. I have no respect for a guy like that.
(I saw some OR fan posting that it would be funny to wear the "WE WANT BAMA" T - shirts now, as some sort of sadistic making-fun-of-oneself irony. Me, I kind of want to buy a whole pack of shirts and burn them in a giant bonfire! Hahahahahaha)
I think they're just trying to do what they can to maximize their odds of not making another mistake, while hoping three above them fail.
I'm here to eat my crow, since I was the most vociferous of Oregon fans here, according to someone. Serve it hot or cold, steaming, boiled or fried, in a pie or plain and uncooked. It has been a disappointing and embarrassing season for our team. We don't deserve a shot to play you, maybe one day we will if we can pull it together. It's a humiliating day, even to post in here. The ship is headed in the wrong direction at this point. Yours is well on its way to another victory. You'll be legends remembered for many years. Maybe we'll just be another team that got within a field goal of a national championship. Not too bad for a team that came from out of nowhere without a solid recruiting base. Our once-in-a-lifetime coach left the building, taking the magic with him. His absence is painfully felt. I'll still aspire for more from this team, for new leaders to rise that won't take for granted what they've been handed. I fully expect to see Alabama hoisting another trophy this year, and will try to enjoy it as a college football fan witnessing a rare era, rather than a deflated fan let down from a disappointing season. Keep on doing what you're doing, you do it well.

Just FYI since your college football history reservoir appears to be a mud puddle, we have lost more big games (nationally significant) than Oregon has ever played. We do know how it feels.
