Two Oregon players not interested in regular Rose Bowl...

Congrats to Rich Rod and Rita. I didn't see the game, but Arizona actually played a little defense? Imagine that.

To be fair, the only ugly duckling that I know of was blitz and I think he is just too young to know better. The other posters seemed reasonable and knowledgeable. That said ...

Yeah this sucks, for obvious reasons. Sure, no one cares as much when you're a jerk if you win. Keyword, "WIN." Of course it comes back and bites you when you lose. Losing to Stanford was one thing, but this BEATDOWN - and it was an absolute beatdown - to AZ was another matter.

Hopefully the coaches stamp out this nonsense from DAT and other players, and gets them motivated to finish the season. As a fan I always support my team win or lose. But at least when we sucked, we always fought hard. You just didn't hear these comments (that I know of) nor did you see this absolute giving up that happened today.

Anyway I totally get why you guys are laughing now. Hell, we deserve it. I don't think Saban would tolerate anything like this from his players. Not sure if Chip would have, either. I'm hoping Helfrich figures out how to get his team together, an 11-2 season is still possible, and in most schools would be a great season. I don't want us to accept mediocrity, but we clearly need to get humble, keep our heads down and take care of business. I feel like most of the players have good attitudes, but the bad comments are permeating the whole team.

I think most OR fans, the ones who don't post on forums all day and print 'we want bama' T Shirts want to see our team play hard, take care of business and show heart in every game. I'm through with the big talk, either walk the walk or keep your mouths shut!!

DeAnthony Thomas' behavior in the Stanford game tee'd me off, and and I'm not even an Oregon fan. The guy that got emotional (Huff I think) because he dropped the pass got razzed, but at least he cared about the game enough to get upset. Thomas was laughing and looked totally unfazed by getting beat. I have no respect for a guy like that.

What I heard - and maybe this is just a lame excuse - is that De'Anthony was laughing in reaction to Stanford fans making fun of him for the "40 points" comment. You know, the types of people who laugh at funerals or something??? I don't know. I think he was trying to play it off as not getting dejected or giving up... but after today now I'm wondering where his head is at. I'm starting to wonder if we're like USC with Kiffin, tons of talent, wrong attitude, wrong coaching. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope Helfrich and co. figures it out, gets the team together and they start playing Duck football again.

(I saw some OR fan posting that it would be funny to wear the "WE WANT BAMA" T - shirts now, as some sort of sadistic making-fun-of-oneself irony. Me, I kind of want to buy a whole pack of shirts and burn them in a giant bonfire! Hahahahahaha)

Only out west. Dang hipsters. ;)

Lucky - We are mostly razzing Blitz because we know he is lurking now. I actually enjoy watching the Duck's offense when they are hot and once they figure out the other half of the game, titles will come. Meanwhile, it will hurt much less about 5 minutes after you crush some hapless directional team ... To me, you stated the most important thing about college football - My team, win or lose. And the one thing we all get reminded of eventually, it is easy to win classy. You are doing the hard stuff tonight. Good luck Duck.

Also, think of it as a moral victory, at least for Aliotti, the Zerogon DC - who had no complaints that RichRod was still throwing the ball at the end trying to win even bigger.

Players gave up. They gave up after Stanford. There is an obvious coaching problem that needs to be addressed (preferably by some firings). Get back to basics. Respect the Rose Bowl, make it the seasonal goal, and if something happens beyond that, fine, but don't hang all hopes on it. Get bigger and better lines, get back to running the ball, which what the team was originally about. Crack down on player trash talking (fans are one thing, players are another), get a coach that commands respect, Helfrich does not.

I'm here to eat my crow, since I was the most vociferous of Oregon fans here, according to someone. Serve it hot or cold, steaming, boiled or fried, in a pie or plain and uncooked. It has been a disappointing and embarrassing season for our team. We don't deserve a shot to play you, maybe one day we will if we can pull it together. It's a humiliating day, even to post in here. The ship is headed in the wrong direction at this point. Yours is well on its way to another victory. You'll be legends remembered for many years. Maybe we'll just be another team that got within a field goal of a national championship. Not too bad for a team that came from out of nowhere without a solid recruiting base. Our once-in-a-lifetime coach left the building, taking the magic with him. His absence is painfully felt. I'll still aspire for more from this team, for new leaders to rise that won't take for granted what they've been handed. I fully expect to see Alabama hoisting another trophy this year, and will try to enjoy it as a college football fan witnessing a rare era, rather than a deflated fan let down from a disappointing season. Keep on doing what you're doing, you do it well.

I am astonished you came back.

I've got to give you kudos, man. I didn't expect to see you back and if you did come back I fully expected you to be in complete meltdown mode and get yourself banned or at least suspended. You're taking it like a man, though; and I can understand your bitterness with the coaches letting the attitudes there get out of hand and completely blow up the season. My respect for you has ticked up a notch; but don't let it go to your head - there was a lot of upside headroom for you. ;) Good luck from here on out. I can't say I'll pull for your team to win unless they draw someone I dislike more, but I do (as always) hope for an injury free ending and for you to enjoy the rest of the college football season. Be safe.

I'm here to eat my crow, since I was the most vociferous of Oregon fans here, ....

We have all had crow for dinner Bltz ... Bama's next dish is is in the freezer ... and we are hoping to keep it there for another year or so but some team is eventually going to cook it up up for us. IMO, it goes down better with a couple of shots.

Right now Bama is living through an unprecedented time for any modern fanbase and it wasn't all that long ago that we were getting kicked around by the NCAA, the press and all of our arch rivals ... insert platitude about sun shine and dogs' rear ends here ... The Ducks will return ... heck, Kelly may return. There are about 120 FBS teams; being in the top 25 consistently, in the top ten often, going to a good bowl game every year and staying in the Saturday conversation ... and yes, occasionally eating crow ... is what it is all about. Good luck going forward ... and keep your beak up ... or bill ... whatever.

Just FYI since your college football history reservoir appears to be a mud puddle, we have lost more big games (nationally significant) than Oregon has ever played. We do know how it feels.

Yes, I remember them well. And the long stretches between good coaches. I'm trying to squeeze every bit of enjoyment I can out of our current run.

I'm glad the Duck poster everybody was upset with came around and is still able to post. Chin up blitzkrieg and enjoy the wins when they come.

I'm told that this condition in the sport vernacular is known as, premature exaltation. Repeated episodes of joy, rapture, ecstasy, bliss, with unsubstantiated and unfulfilled results can leave the victim feeling sad, unmotivated and capable of producing deep feelings of buyer's remorse, even before the holiday season has begun.
